still can’t believe that given the choice between “bountiful, free, clean energy from the earth, wind, and sun” and “poisonous dead animal sludge price sensitive to global politics” we keep choosing the latter

Wise alien who just befriended my nephew: Do not these men, these pokemen, yearn for a destiny beyond the grasp of their masters? Do they not tire of the unending violence?
Me: Shutttt uppp, dude. Don’t make me get the Cool Whip, which you are irrationally afraid of for cute alien reasons I think

Let the grass whisper to your fingertips.
I don't think I've ever seen a movie's box art specify its release year in the title like this before...
i respect season 2 of the pitt for saying "ignoring your depression & trauma doesn't make you the sympathetic hero, it makes you a problem in the fucking workplace"
Star Trek: The Next Generation: Tasha Yar on the bridge says with a smile: “drugs can make you feel good.”

Serious question: what is all the stuff flying around in the foreground of this video? Is it just light detritus being kicked up by the camera's propellors?

To understand Kieran Culkin wife, one must ask: who is this venerable spouse? Does she have a height in meters? What proclivities may have driven her to be Culkin wife?
L: A young W B Yeats wearing pince nez and a large bow tie. R: A middle-aged Aleister Crowley wearing a large (possibly homburg) black hat and the ‘I’m mad, me’ expression that he always put on for photos
Ah! 19 April – 126th anniversary of the day William Butler Yeats kicked Aleister Crowley downstairs as they fought for control of the British branch of the not-at-all-ridiculous Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn in the Battle of Blythe Road. According to legend, anyway... 🧵

Close view inside an Akai VCR showing a brown circuit board packed with resistors, red capacitors, wiring, and a black NEC chip, with the parts arranged in a way that feels both technical and oddly elegant.
Interior shot of an Akai VCR circuit board filled with capacitors, resistors, ceramic discs, and bundled wires, with a large black integrated circuit at the center and the whole layout looking dense and carefully planned.
Tight close up of an Akai VCR motherboard featuring a large Akai marked system chip, multicolored ribbon wires, solder points, and printed board labels, giving a good look at the hidden logic inside the machine.
Detail from inside an Akai VCR showing blue adjustment trimmers, red capacitors, black capacitors, and white plastic connectors lined up across a warm brown circuit board, with the electronics looking almost architectural.
When I first saw a circuit board as a kid. I was amazed with the complexity and the beauty of it all. I decided to take a moment and appreciate my Akai VCR while I have it open.
Not yet. It's on my list.
good morning
The only reason diffrent spellings exist is because people are so damn indecisive!
My brother and I loved being able to do weird jumping in one of the corners of the entrance hall in order to briefly walk on the blue ceiling a few steps before the game realizes you shouldn't be walking there. It felt like such a fun, weird glitch to discover.

A photograph of a crescent moon that is just a downward-curving sliver of white against a pale blue, near-sunset sky. The moon is framed by a series of black intersecting power lines that criss-cross the composition of the photograph.

I actually got six movies in this week. Tentacles was a mess, but The Endless was great!

A cropped screenshot from the Letterboxd app of my "Recent Activity." Displayed are little movie posters for the following movies, along with my ratings for them (out of five stars); from left to right, they are: • The People That Time Forgot (1977), 3 stars • My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising (2019), 3 stars • Super Happy Fun Clown (2025), 3½ stars • The Land That Time Forgot (1974), 3½ stars
This week, I learned that:
• The Land That Time Forgot didn't need a sequel.
• So far, the My Hero Academia movies don't really seem to add much to the series.
• Jenn-O The Clown will return, and I'm interested to see what happens whenever she does.
