This includes the issue of child and adolescent to parent violence and abuse (CAPVA).The government needs to revisit & continue the work began by the previous administration, creating a clear definition to understand its prevalence & respond accordingly to the challenges faced by parents and carers.
Great news
Brilliant. My family on my mumโs side are all from and still in the Black Country, so itโs a place very dear to my heart. My great great grandmother was Patience Round, who Iโm sure youโve heard of ๐ช

Spot on. Come on Labour. Don't reproduce the shortcomings of your predecessors
Our CEO, @jotodd.bsky.social was one of the guest speakers at the recent EIDA conference - the team caught up with Jo to find out more about Respect's work and to gather her thoughts on what employers need to know about responding to perpetrators of DA.

Reading NAO report & brilliant @lexytopping.bsky.social
Discovered that "the Home Office underspent on its own VAWG budget by an average of 15% between 2021-22 and 2023-24".
Utterly bewildering and rage-making when the whole VAWG sector is on its knees.

So delighted to see former @respectuk.bsky.social Research Manager @thangamdebbonaire.bsky.social is on her way to the House of Lords. Great to have an expert in working with perpetrators of domestic abuse (among so many other things) on the red benches ๐
As I discussed on Five Live this week- we are failing rape victims at every turn. 5 years of not being able to move on, not get privileged counselling. Not heal. Itโs torturing victims

And it was fantastic to see brilliant sector friends
I'd have told the PM that I'll be watching closely to see whether government words really are matched with bold action... I do hope so...
The Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer, speaking from a podium, as seen from the audience a few rows back
I very nearly got the chance to speak to the PM at the end but he was whisked away. I would have told him I'm heartened by the government pledge to halve violence against women and girls, but very disappointed he failed to mention it today.
A few reflections on the PM's speech today. As always, it's deeds not words we really want!
I'm very sorry to hear this sad news
Can you add @respectuk.bsky.social too ๐
The ceilings were almost as superb as the company ๐
