i'm happy to see the onion take over infowars. i've been a big fan of the onion for quite a long time and it's given me plenty of laughs over the years. and as for infowars, i really disliked alex jones and disagreed with him on a whole lot of things. so to me, this whole situation is a win-win

Cohost Sean sent me a video of some cartoon called the “Piggsburg Pigs” and I found this clip.
My Bloomin Onion Resonator Lamp.
So I found this huge Bloomin Onion type lamp shade several months ago, but didn’t have a lamp for it.
So I found a cheap brass one to see how it’d look and before I tried it out I remembered I found some green light bulbs too.
The result was I made a portal to hell.
“2 or 3 times a year” is deranged.
I have just learned that although Finnish and Icelandic have almost nothing in common as languages, these four words mean and sound exactly the same in both:
-Meistari (master)
-Keisari (emperor)
-Runkari (masturbator)
-Súkkulaðirúsína (chocolate raisin)
again I struggle with... our information economy is so broken that I don't know if Democrats are running on "we're going to start trials on the pancreatic cancer vaccine again" but like. Shouldn't they be????

A pallbearer your poster. Fresh. Clean.
Went to the Pallbearer/Knoll/Axioma show in Cleveland last night. All three ripped. Also, I’ve very briefly hung out with Pallbearer a few times and they are legit some of the nicest dudes you could ever meet. A great night all around.

7 Up
1987-1997
This cartoon 7 Up dot of British origin was adopted by the US in 1987 and developed into a cool, mischievous mascot, whose ads saw him playing with other Spots while perilously trying to keep out of human sight. He is best remembered as the star of multiple acclaimed advergames.
I think the ground just shook
A yellow box that reads "chocolate cookiesaurus made with real chocolate", next to a drawing of a brown brontosaurus
Chocolate Cookiesaurus (1988-1999): Crunchy cookies from Sunshine Biscuits, made with real chocolate, shaped like 6 different dinosaurs
Riki oh screenshot of Riki and a kid, with the kid saying, “When a man dies, he becomes a seagull.”
I watched the Riki-Oh OVA for the first time this week. Kinda sucks, especially when compared to Ngai Choi Lam’s live-action version, but it does have this screenshot that I appreciated.
I know it's april fools day but I can't emphasize enough how much I need everybody to not fuck around today
This bit from the Hbomberguy Deus Ex video has been stuck in my head for like a week now.
Dylan and Kissinger are both really great at bombing and killing a crowd though
I guested on the Frogcord podcast. Pretty great. Got to hear some insane school stories from across the pond, I talked about cassettes, and a good time was had all around.
Let's put it this way: Richard Nixon is one of the less evil Duke alumni.
The world’s worst computer setup. It’s a broken laptop connected to a literal prison tv and like 20 other devices. Don’t do this.
I wanted to make a computer setup where I could burn DVDs, scan some stuff, and generally make a digital Portuguese Man O’ War of wires and devices.
So, one busted laptop I got for free, a Toyota Prison TV, and a bunch of other bullshit later, I finally finished this awful beast.
Mike Mitchell skanking to “Pa-Pa-Ya!” by Babymetal.
I talk and talk and talk about how anticommunism is deeply baked into the American psyche, and still, at a time when old people and sick people and disabled people are having their lives snuffed out in Cuba because of a blockade this country imposed, it's still "but Lenin was bad actually" discourse
Mike Mitchell skanking to the theme for the 1992 Philips CD-I game Inca People
Mike Mitchell skanking to that one part of Kittie’s “Brackish”
I made so many dumb versions of this. Just him dancing to the mashup version of ICP’s “Chicken Huntin’” and the theme song for the WWE tag team The Brood.
I saw a video of “The Spoonman” Mike Mitchell skanking at a live Doughboys and I spent last night just making videos of him skanking over other songs.
OH. MY. GAWD.
Pretending like you are going to war instead of a baseball tournament and then losing at baseball is super funny
Guess the US didn't love the military enough
