The sad thing is the world of information was always open to you, and a while ago social policy was to give you lots of possibilities and Vergils (libraries, community colleges, activist spaces) to explore it. AI is a technical solution to a social problem, and as most such solutions it’s a sham.
But also this phenomenon, only remixing from a cultural archive, has been the standard mode of the film industry in particular long before AI (sequels, „franchises“, „IP“s), and the photorealistic of Light and Magic has been long gone - see the very first „clean-up“ of the Star Wars films.

Alexander Kluge ist tot. Zwischen seinem ersten und letzten "Merkur"-Text lagen 53 Jahre. Man muss gewiss nicht zum "Merkur" greifen, um Texte des unfassbar produktiven (u.a.) Autors zu finden, aber man kann: Es gibt insgesamt elf (einige frei lesbar).

Att man måste skilja på befrielse och frihet, sant att socialismen har rätt idé om det förra men fel idé om det senare och att det med liberalismen är tvärtom. Man kan kanske förstå den tanken utifrån 1980-talets perspektivförskjutning och strömningar, men ur dagens horisont känns det… aningen off.
Alla har sitt sätt att hantera söndagsångest.
Det är två exempel på mycket snygg essäistik, make till välskriven politisk prosa får man nog leta närmast förgäves efter på svenska språket (vi snackar kanske Tingsten, Geijer, den nivån). Men själva grundtanken förefaller hopplöst fel ute, rentav reaktionär idag. Följsam med tidens vindar.

I looked up the prevalence of “rules-based order” on Google Ngram and what’s most surprising is that it’s not that recent. I assumed it would be a post-2016 thing but turns out the start of the sharp uptick is around 2010-11. The question is why. Russo-Georgian War in 2008 a factor?
