Every day, for ten days straight, I’m posting a new monologue I wrote for someone on my Patreon, based on some loose prompts for them to fill out. This is an experiment in me, as an immersive theatre artist!

I am curious as to how interactive/immersive theatre artists can create...interactive immersive theatre specifically FOR social media, since it is just so unbelievably hard to film our work. I know that part is changing, but looking into 2026, I feel the need to be as experimental as I can.

I know that it's hard for my community to be able to make it to all the live things, so this project is an experiment: how can I still interact with my patrons, but have it be more passive? Having them submit written responses to questions, and me creating off of those responses, is what I decided.

I'm doing something new this month: embarking on a ten day adventure, making videos for folks who filled out prompts via my patreon.

Bringing my community in this year to read my essay’s out loud has been so rewarding.

This month I write about togetherness and gathering as a direct response to combatting fascism, and it’s beautifully narrated by Devin Burnam.

*These donations are always even more meaningful to me, because I know people are doing what they can and the gratitude feels so big.

But with seeing how little people are able to support a project ($5, $10 truly doesn't move the needle much anymore)* I'm wondering just how *expansive* our creative endeavors can be.

Do you budget to have a little bit of money to support folks when they reach out to you for these kinds of things?
I fundraise for myself pretty regularly (as you all know), because without the financial support of my community -- I just can't do the work.

In 2025, I'm running a campaign seeking $12k, and I'm predicting we'll get it from 250 people.
Those are...real different numbers.
I'm curious, for anyone who wants to engage: are you overwhelmed by artists crowdfunding and friends sending gofundmes for health care bills?

have (as it turns out) exclusively worked for queer/trans/femme-led theatre pieces raising funds for production. And I'm seeing that over time, we are reaching out to MUCH larger swaths of people for relatively low funds -- just for perspective:
In 2019, I raised $41k from 318 people.

I don't know how many of you know this: but one of my side hustles is managing crowdfunding campaigns for other indie artists.
If you're like: whoa, that sounds like intense work, let me tell you: IT IS.
And it gets more intense every year.

Any educators out there who teach live online classes in CapCut? I use it often but I’d love to pay for an official course!
