Having coined "snake aioli" a while back, I am now asking if "sloppalgia" (which describes the Jamesonian ahistorical nostalgia produced by so-called ai slop) is already taken

It is called "mise en slopîme" when nostalgia slop recalls something people don't know or remember, becoming nostalgia for slop without referent, isn't it? A "sloaping signifier" if you like

Has "snake ai-oli" already been coined? If not, you're welcome! My only concern would be ruining the majestic sauce that aioli is.

Same here. Also of note the disappearance of repair shops, at least where I am. The expectation is "chuck it, get a new one." And I'm glad there are more and more people uninterested in digital stuff (cars included)

True and weird how thinking stuff should simply work (and last) is never a given.

"Global South" is not a perfect term, especially due to the complexities from which it emerged as a substitute of terms such as "Third World." There are also unresolved geographical and historical questions. But one productive point is that an exciting debate continues about its unfixed meaning.

Debates among academics are frequently hampered by a failure to understand one another's arguments. For instance, criticisms of my work fail to understand how good it is
