Wasn't there once some issue where the President's son was supposedly (though without much evidence) profiting off of his father's Presidency and it was the worst thing in the world during the last administration...
“.. Developing Asia is already in a full-blown energy crisis. .. Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines are facing shortages, rationing and demand destruction. .. If the strait remains closed, this will develop, horribly, into a food crisis ..”

A new wholly corrupt settlement handing your money to Trump cronies.
It’s notable for several reasons:

The F.B.I. began investigating a New York Times reporter last month after she wrote about the bureau’s director, Kash Patel, using bureau personnel to provide his girlfriend with government security and transportation.

BREAKING NYT:
The FBI began investigating a New York Times reporter last month after she wrote about Kash Patel using bureau personnel to provide his girlfriend with government security and transportation, according to a person briefed on the matter.
Sean Parnell, spokesman for Pete Hegseth: STATEMENT: Secretary of the Navy John C. Phelan is departing the administration, effective immediately. On behalf of the Secretary of War and Deputy Secretary of War, we are grateful to Secretary Phelan for his service to the Department and the United States Navy. We wish him well in his future endeavors. Undersecretary Hung Cao will become Acting Secretary of the Navy.
Trump just fired the Secretary of the Navy and replaced him with Undersecretary Hung Cao, one of the biggest idiots Virginia politics has produced this century (really saying something here) in the middle of the Iran war
NEW: Carter Page, a ubiquitous figure in the Russiagate investigation, has reached a $1.25 million settlement with the Trump administration over his long-running lawsuit over illegal FISA surveillance.

RFK Jr: President Trump has invested more in trying to transition off glyphosate than any other president
HASSAN: When & how did he do that? He signed an order to increase production of it for weapons and herbicide, and he granted immunity to the huge corporation who produces it. You once sued them
Trump's immigration crackdown has come to the suburbs. On Long Island, expansive roads are fertile terrain for ICE agents to capture migrants without the critical eye of observers that has often accompanied officials’ actions in big Democrat-led cities. Gift link: www.nytimes.com/2026/04/22/n...
Here's the definitive answer to the debate over "who started it": Republicans.
Before Trump pushed TX to gerrymander last year, the GOP had drawn 42% of all districts, versus just 14% for Dems (the rest were by neutral parties).
The maps below from @stephenwolf.bsky.social make this explicit.
Nine of the last ten members of Congress to die in office have been Democrats.
Some are claiming this gerrymandering escalation was triggered by NY not Texas. That’s false. The NY Dems case is comparable to what NC Republicans did — a battle between the legislature and the courts over the post-2020 map. What Texas did is something else: rip up a map they wanted for a new one.
For the record: The Washington Post is run by partisan hacks who think we won't remember that they took the *exact* opposite stance when it was Republicans pushing their own gerrymandering grab in Texas last year -- *without* putting it up for a vote.
Q: Can you explain the computer log in issue? Your lawsuit contends you were not able to log in
PATEL: Survey -- how many of you people believe that's true?
Q: Did you communicate that you thought you were fired?
PATEL: It never happened. You are lying.
Q: The lawsuit says the opposite!
this is how Utah's Congressional map deals with Utah's largest city, cracking it through to the middle into 4 different districts in order to deny it Congressional representation to make sure Dems get 0 seats
A little background on who the Southern Poverty Law Center is and what kind of work they’ve been doing for decades makes it clear that DOJ’s indictment (which is of the center, not of any individuals) is vindictive & malicious, an attack on civil rights work itself. open.substack.com/pub/joycevan...
The White House Correspondents’ Dinner “has always been a bit of an embarrassment”—but this year’s gala figures to be more awkward and embarrassing than usual, Paul Farhi argues.

"Patel seems to think he dropped a world of hurt on The Atlantic when all he really did was show that both he and his attorneys seem to have been struggling with hangovers during their first year of law school."
A reminder while Republicans bitch about Dems finishing the redistricting fight they started: they have full control of gov’t— they can pass a law banning gerrymandering any time they want. They won’t. Republicans aren’t mad gerrymandering exists; they’re mad that they’re not the only ones using it.
EXCLUSIVE: The SPLC indictment, the Klan history behind it, and the ignominy of Todd Blanche.
Another dark day for DOJ.

What the American "drug war" looks like on the ground: Ecuadorian fishermen were attacked in a double drone strike, arrested at gupoint, taken to El Salvador and then finally released.

Texas redistricts without a vote, Republicans cheer.
Dems in Virginia respond by putting it UP FOR A VOTE OF THE PEOPLE, it passes, Republican cry foul.
Oh well. Good job Virginia!!
So much false equivalence in media on gerrymandering in Texas vs California & Virginia. California and Virginia maps approved by the voters. That's a huge difference not enough people pointing out
BREAKING:
WASHINGTON (AP) — Virginia voters approve new US House districts that could aid Democrats in midterm elections.
Two things can be true:
Congress should pass uniform, national legislation reining in partisan gerrymandering; and
Until that happens, or every state adopts an independent redistricting commission, neither party is going to (or, frankly, should) unilaterally disarm.
Decision Desk HQ projects the VA Congressional Redistricting Referendum will Pass.

Prince William County fully reported and it's a great performance for YES, just like Loudoun. Now the four biggest localities we have reported (Loudoun, PWC, Portsmouth, and Norfolk) imply a YES win by 7 points. Everywhere else maps to a 2 point YES victory.
