I think we can all use more cats these days. Meet Vater, rescued from a life on the streets and given a warm home full of love. His adopter alerted the local animal rescue to the feral colony Vater came from, setting them all up for much healthier and safer lives.

Celebrating love and kindness with this portrait. Lucien was adopted as a senior 9 yo. My initial sketch of him had to be revised, as I was trying to make him look "less angry." Little did I realize that expression is part of his charm! This portrait is in memoriam. Hugs and love to his family.
I'm giving away one of my Shelter Cat totes! It features Diamond, a senior cat who was dumped at the shelter where I volunteer, malnourished and matted. After being nursed back to health, this beautiful girl was adopted. I celebrate her resiliency & the community who helped.

I find such deep peace in observing and drawing leaves. Look at the way this oak leaf is so asymmetrical. The way the veins curve, one side is elongated, the other side seems to be stretching upward. It’s a beautiful tiny individual in our world. #oakleaf #wondersareeverywhere
