Dan Schulman is the new CEO of Verizon and he is predicting 20 to 30% unemployment within the next 2 to 5 years due to AI.

Not a typo. He thinks 1/3 of people currently employed will lose their jobs by 2030.

When it comes to spreading disinformation, dark money buys a lot of repetition, because repetition works.

Repetition works.

Repetition works.

Repetition works.

(Did we mention that repetition works?)

Since the Surprise warehouse the mayor has thrown up his hands up and pretended there’s nothing he can do to stop, or even stall, a concentration camp from being built in his community. Now he’s doing everything he can to ensure it gets built as fast as possible. Fucking ghoul freak.

I can’t believe that the stunning publicity model of “AI IS GOING TO MAKE YOU ALL JOBLESS AND HOMELESS, PEASANTS” has worked out so poorly for tech billionaires hoping that it would result in worldwide seamless adoption of AI junkware. A whole mystery really.

“'I’ve never experienced anything like this in my entire life,' the congresswoman said, fighting back tears.

"She described the way people were laying down inside as “like sardines.”

“'It is frightening in there,' she said. 'It is disgusting'..."

Spain is crushing it ⚡🇪🇸

Solar is delivering the equivalent of 27 nuclear plants during the day. Pumped hydro stores ~3 nuclear plants worth. Batteries already stepping in.

This isn’t a generation problem anymore. It’s storage scale.

Energy scarcity → energy timing. #BESS #Solar

Charlize Theron on the Night Her Mother Killed Her Father in Self-Defense

Unfortunately, this is not an isolated story. These things are prevalent in a lot of homes. Women really get a very, very unfair shake, even in this country.
Nobody takes it seriously.

Trump Thinks He’s Become Orange Jesus In Trump 1.0, people mocked the President by calling him Orange Jesus. In Trump 2.0, he actually thinks he’s become Jesus, Susan B. Glasser writes.

At 250 feet tall, Trump's arch would be the biggest such structure in the world. Asked last fall what this modern-day arch was meant to commemorate, Trump pointed to himself and replied, “Me.” @sbg1.bsky.social www.newyorker.com/news/letter-...

Research-based Information and Media Literacy Resource Hub Launched | OCLC's WebJunction mpowering Informed Communities (EIC), a project of the University of Washington’s Center for an Informed Public (CIP), has released an updated website with research-based media and information literacy resources and tools for public libraries. EIC publishes implementation-ready, patron-facing programs and provides professional development events and materials for library staff. The project partners with OCLC’s WebJunction, experts in public library professional development. WebJunction is helping to refine the project’s resources and produce professional development webinars based on CIP research. On the EIC website, library practitioners will find a series of “resource packs” focused on media and information literacy that are designed to be approachable, with no previous experience or expertise required. Each resource pack provides an introduction to the topic, ideas on how to approach the topic at their library, and a series of ready-to-use resources. The packs cover a wide range of topics, including the role of AI in everyday life, how emotions impact how we use social media, methods for online fact-checking, and how to use games in media literacy activities. The ready-to-use tools in the packs include handouts, presentations, posters, and game materials.
