Biking connects you to your city. You feel the sun, move your body, and actually experience your neighborhood.
Cars do the exact opposite. They wall you off from the world, make streets dangerous, and shrink your entire community down to just point A and point B.

Car dependency is the US default, but when a city finally provides basic, safe infrastructure with efficient routes away from traffic violence, it creates possibilities. The freedom to leave the car at home and just run errands by bike is liberation.
How are you going to get around when gas is $10 per gallon? Why have we not had better, safer transportation alternatives all along?
