BREAKING: One of the most important and prominent reporters on the ground in Gaza has been Anas Al Sharif.

He - and several other Al Jazeera journalists - have just been assassinated by Israelis forces whilst in their press tent in central Gaza.

Speechless.

@divyampersaud.com’s text : “Outlaw Geography at the End of the World,” is phenomenal too; a fantastic meditation on ideological and intellectual obfuscations snd an how to take, after Nâzim Hikmet, “to take living seriously.”

Mohamad Nahleh is an incredible writer and thinker - and his piece, titled “Purging a Wretched Empire,” is heart-crushing, unapologetic, tender, brutal and beautiful. It’s a must read.

What amazed me while reporting this was that ACSA felt the best course of action was to gather design education's foremost social justice advocates on an editorial board & then antagonize them by blowing up a JAE issue on the top social justice issue of our time www.archpaper.com/2025/04/jour...

Dear Dr. Abdelhadi,

The Keough School of Global Affairs, which houses the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies, recently learned of your keynote speech at their student conference next weekend. The University of Notre Dame requires that all events or lectures related to Israel/Palestine have ND Police security and planning. We were unaware of your planned lecture, and since this conference overlaps with two other annual events on campus, we cannot provide security at short notice. For this reason, we respectfully request that you do not participate in the conference. The Kroc Institute will honor any honorarium that was awarded for this event. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Sincerely,

Mary Gallagher

I was scheduled to give a talk on Palestine at a student conference at @notredame.bsky.social. The University rescinded my talk a week in advance citing an extremely flimsy excuse. It is truly disgusting. Attached is the letter I received and my reply, link below...

More context from @zachmortice.bsky.social on ACSA’s decision to censor the Journal of Architectural Education’s Palestine issue (+ then some). Re: institutional capitulations, performative repair + ivory tower knee-bending; do give this a read; it’s an important moment in our discipline.
