TLDR; zenos should have stayed dead in stormblood if they were gonna do him like that

yet, in the case of zenos, we're supposed to just leave his corpse at the edge of the universe and write him off as a villain with no depth? and god, they couldn't fit any of his short story lore in the MSQ? even if just a side quest or a book somewhere like C'MON that short story is so important.
[walks back in] AAAND ANOTHER THING: zenos says a line that i will never forget: "would you be happier had i a 'good' reason?" time and time again, we see the scions sympathize with villains and the story redeem them simply because they had tragic reasons.
ALSO. not doing anything with zenos being emet's blood, his dreams of amaurot and the final days, and that one line fandanial says: "could emet-selch have found a way?" like??? are we just going to ignore that forever and leave it open-ended?
all in all, i feel like zenos had so much more potential or so many options for a better ending and i wasn't satisfied with it at all. it would be cheap, but i hope he comes back at some point just so i can have that closure.
-changing his point of view? do i think he's redeemable or that he should have been made a scion? no, that wouldn't work. but i think there was room for an ending where zenos lives and perhaps learns to chase adventure the way the wol does. maybe even a reluctant traveler arc with him in the void.
as he dies, there's reflection and (in my opinion) hesitation. when he dies before he can finish a new sentence, i did not feel satisfaction or finality as i did in stormblood. i felt confused and annoyed. why push zenos through this growth just to kill him off when he's finally, FINALLY-
he realizes that he cannot keep lighting fires hoping to incite the wol's rage, and at the final fight, he offers a challenge to the wol without expecting anything in return or forcing it (even if you have no choice but to fight him).
throughout endwalker, we're shown various instances of zenos' ideals being challenged, and his perception of his relationship to the wol slowly changing, as well as his perception of the world around him.
when zenos first dies in stormblood, there's a finality and a satisfaction. he's reached a high he believes can never be obtained, and chooses to end his life at his greatest peak. honestly, had SE chosen to just leave his death there, i would have been happy with his story.
not necessarily a lore problem but i will find any platform to talk about it - zenos was done so dirty
