Whiskey/60 must have been off the charts for this one
For the record I'm not in support of hiring him
If this happens and the team becomes a legit contender in the coming seasons, a lot of fans will conveniently forget their disapproval
What's the plan, Steve?
Identifying the next window of contention

Any idea why? The 2-way argument is invalid when team defense is this bad
The bad contracts suck but the overall plan is draft and develop. The young players are playing well and lots of prospects are almost ready to make the jump. The dead weight vets will be replaced soon.
At what point can we confirm with 100% scientific certainty that the trash patch is, in fact, cursed?
Ok fine
Do we have to?
Giving the Wings that flexibility would be huge
Ah I misread it as being based on the total length of the contract, not remaining years. Sounds like it ultimately comes down to whether he thinks he can make the NHL or not, assuming he'd pick KHL over AHL.
He would have needed to apply for the buyout already if he wanted out next summer, no? 16 months prior to termination given his 2 year contract. Probably ways around that but sounds unlikely
Can his KHL club block the move or is it purely a matter of whether he's ready for the NHL?
He'll be entering his prime joining a Red Wings team looking to make a playoff run (hopefully)
Could be a real boost to the lineup
I like Lalonde but he sounds like a man with no answers right now.
His new system isn't working.

Eye test checks out
Yzerman is more patient than the rest of us but you have to think that patience is running thin.
Veteran players look frustrated, especially Kane. It just isn't a good look for the coach.
Haven't checked the stats but Larkin's shooting% must be off the charts
They could still turn it around, but they seem to be establishing an identity and that identity is not good
I've been patient with my opinion of Lalonde, but we're at a point where I wouldn't be shocked if he's gone soon. I do think he gets a longer leash because of the roster, but there's something deeper wrong here. The players don't look comfortable. They don't look "bought in" like they did last year.
Dylan Larkin deserves better than this
Let's do this all over again Monday at 10:30pm

Hit himself so hard he switched teams
The Red Wings are a promising looking team for about 20-25 minutes a game when Seider or Edvinsson, preferably both, are on the ice with a forward line that includes Larkin or Raymond, preferably both. And in the other 35-40 minutes they look like a bottom-three team in the league.
Not long apparently
Man this defense is ROUGH
