That’s right, next month PBOT crews will begin resurfacing NW 23rd Avenue, Lovejoy to Vaughn streets, thanks to Fixing Our Streets.

More details will be released in June on how everyone can join in thegroup ride, riding a BIKETOWN e-bike or a personal bike. A celebration with swag, music and special guests will ring in a decade of BIKETOWN, PBOT's bike-share system, with title sponsor NIKE, Inc. and operator Lyft.
The fleet upgrade is made possible by a Portland Clean Energy Community Benefits Fund (PCEF) allocation that is matched by Lyft, BIKETOWN's operator. The fund already supports BIKETOWN's equity programs: BIKETOWN for All and Adaptive BIKETOWN.
Since arriving in Portland in 2024, the Cosmo e-bikes have been a hit with BIKETOWN riders. In 2025 the new e-bikes made up only 30% of the fleet--yet accounted for 50% of all BIKETOWN trips.
To mark this milestone and make bike-sharing even more convenient, BIKETOWN will replace all first-generation e-bikes with new e-bikes this year. The zippy gray e-bikes have double the battery life, a stronger motor, onboard information display and more seat-height options.
BIKETOWN was launched on July 19, 2016. To commemorate 10 years of bike-share service, PBOT will host a massive group ride on Sunday, July 19, where all Portlanders are welcome to ride downtown in the morning and celebrate at the Portland Pride Parade!

Temporary traffic control at SW 2nd Avenue and Harvey Milk Street where a signal was damaged by demolition happening next to it. Treat this as a four way stop until it can be repaired.
Heads up, the traffic signal pole and cabinet at SW 2nd Avenue and Harvey Milk Street was damaged by demolition happening next to it. Until we can fix the signal, treat this intersection as an all-way stop.
PBOT crews will be onsite to investigate as soon as it is safe.
See you this weekend!
We'll be updating our social media and the event page throughout the weekend. Can't wait to see what weird vessels y'all put compost in this year!
We love this for you.

Pedestrians will be detoured to avoid the southwest corner of SW Alder Street at 10th Avenue. Parking will be restricted on both sides of SW Alder Street approaching 6th and 10th avenues. Construction is expected to be complete by the middle of August.
Portlanders can expect daytime construction noise and travel delays on SW Alder Street through downtown, particularly during the morning and evening commute. SW Alder Street will remain open with a single travel lane. Transit riders should check www.trimet.org for impacts.
High-capacity bus shelters and an expanded pedestrian area will provide aesthetic upgrades, weather protection, and better lighting.
In partnership with @trimet.org and the Portland Clean Energy Community Benefits Fund (PCEF), PBOT is replacing the current temporary asphalt stops with durable concrete curb extensions and refurbished transit shelters previously used at former TriMet MAX stops.
The work follows the successful first phase of the SW Alder Street project completed in 2022, which rerouted TriMet's Line 15 to SW Alder Street for greater speed and reliability and installed temporary transit stops. This next phase will bring permanent infrastructure to the corridor.
"PBOT is an integral piece of our downtown renaissance," said Portland Mayor Keith Wilson.
"Revitalizing downtown Portland is a team effort, & we are thrilled to have the City's support as we build this civic destination in downtown Portland," says Jessica Elkan, Executive Director of the Market.
The upcoming transit upgrades at SW 6th Avenue and SW Alder Street are part of a citywide effort to lay the groundwork for the James Beard Public Market. Initial work will focus on @trimet.org Line 15 stop on SW Alder at 10th. Work at the stop on SW Alder at 6th will follow in May.
Transit Improvements coming to SW Alder Street this spring in preparation for the James Beard Public Market!
Construction begins April 21 on upgrades to two key transit stops in downtown Portland.

2-way protected bike lane post of the day
i got 99 problems but the bike light at the N Greeley / N Going intersection ain't one - that is the most responsive bike light in the city and i take great pleasure in the power it gives me over the 4 lanes of motorists it keeps at my beck and call
