You should write your book now so you can write it without having to write it for the rest of your life after that

The work of reading and writing literature stands in opposition to all acts that destroy life.

'Summer Morning,' (1896) was painted among the rocks at Newport Beach, Falmouth, in Cornwall. Sun worship and the sea were two of Henry Scott Tuke’s most persistent pictorial themes in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

I feel covers are really more of a reflection of the marketing team behind the book rather than the actual book, for better or worse. Sort of like smoke signals to a certain market they think will enjoy the novel. Whether or not it's successful depends on if the designers actually read the book.

In late spring, we see a low full moon beautifully illuminating an entire landscape. And in the foreground are long, thin older trees encircling an old dirt path that leads down to a shimmering,
placid lake…and in the distance, are low, rolling hills lush and green in the springtime moonlight.

Jane Eyre & Mr. Rochester embrace beneath ancient, gnarled trees below a gothic, windy sky & full moon in this woodcut-esque illustration, which is deliberately stark & artistically graphic in its contrasts.

The internet is so strange, just found this photo of my father and my grandparents on a random genealogy website. My dad said it's legitimate but neither of us had ever seen it! No idea who uploaded it.

Early in his career, Charles Ginner preferred to paint interiors and street scenes, but after WW1 turned his attention to meticulous study of landscape. Here he paints Hampstead Heath in London in the spring of 1932.

Our cats Roscoe and Jim, in our kitchen, looking very serious.

I enjoy the way that in this photo our cats look like a hip-hop duo quite a lot of people quite liked in 1996 who have made a comeback record, done an interview with a broadsheet newspaper and are attempting to prove they are still serious and relevant.

Spider dreams guaranteed
Got these for a transatlantic flight from Seattle. Took effect about 20 minutes from consumption. I slept for about 4 hours and continued to use them to adjust to the timezone change. Every night I had the same dream about a spider wrapping me in a web very tightly and speaking backwards. It seemed very scared and was furious I could not understand what it was trying to say. 20 years passed in the dream world and eventually the spider and I became close friends and four years later we were married. Understandably our differences were too much and our relationship fell apart from the inside. My infidelity was the last straw and we never recovered from the betrayal. I would always wake up write before we signed the divorce papers. I had this same dream every night for 6 days. Great product. Highly recommend.
