Pantry is on my to do list but I’m stalling. I brought some storage trays from Kmart yesterday but that’s as far as I’ve got. Too scared I guess.

Library/cafe/supermarket run this morning. Disinterested service/lovely smiling service/packed the bags in a jumble service. Am I a fussy old cow?

Yes. I am always struck by the unloved child Jane and the scene where she hides behind the curtains on the window seat to read. It’s some powerful bullying and neglect she had to overcome.

Fingers crossed for you. Cars eh? We love them, we hate them. It’s a complicated relationship.

Was thinking fire thoughts last night but ok so far today. J has made curried sausage casserole and is now making chutney so the house smells warm. We’re working on psychological heating I guess.

J is on a kitchen run today. First up curried sausage casserole for dinner. House smells divine. Now making tomato and apple chutney. Smells are intense.

I’d like to electrify our politicians pls as a priority. Shock them into positive actions around climate change and three waters.

Yes isn’t this heartening. I wish we could do more in the biosecurity area. There is so much work for people all over the country from frontline to sciencing to selling skills and technology to the world. Just needs government leadership and investment.

It’s very frank and interesting. I’m a meat eater, mostly chicken these days but anything that’s a good price really e.g goat from Middle Eastern butcher. Try to buy local and free range eg chicken and pork/bacon. It shouldn’t be such a struggle eh.

There’s some 3.15s here in Ōtautahi and all the NPDs are 3.19. Good for all the petrolheads in town for Supercars!

State of local emergency declared in Ruapehu District amid possible ‘life-threatening’ flooding Civil Defence made the declaration at 4.43am after heavy rain caused slips and flooding overnight.

Over the past ten years NZ has averaged 55.9 days annually under a State of Emergency each year, and 66.6 days over the last five. In the 10 years prior to this, NZ averaged only 13.4 days per year.

Consider the implications of central government continuing to refuse to believe in climate change.

Show us photos of the huge line of punters wanting to get in. It’s always the handful with protest signs that get the extra boost of photos. Normies who think Jacinda is great are not worth it? Showing by a picture of the depth of her support not worth it?
