Its a film about a human teaming up with an alien to save both their planets from a space microbe that absorbs the energy from stars. Religion should play no part. Its a story explicitly about science being used to solve a scientific problem.

I strongly prefer the Project Hail Mary book over the film. To make the film appeal to an American audience they add a scene (which isnt in the book) in which Sandra Huller's character expresses her belief in God and the end credit song is a song about Jesus leaving his earthly burdens behind.
