All reagents, tools, and datasets from the RESOLUTE project are openly available at re-solute.eu, promoting open science and facilitating research efforts on #TransporterProteins worldwide. Funded by @ihieurope.bsky.social, the EU, EFPIA and the @oeaw.bsky.social
We integrated RESOLUTE data with public datasets to build a comprehensive, open-access #SoluteCarrier resource—systematically mapping their biochemical functions and biological roles. A blueprint for extracting insights from complex multi-omics data doi.org/10.1038/s443...
Over 35,000 double knockouts revealed synthetic lethal pairs and redundancies, highlighting therapeutic targets—especially in mitochondrial #SLCs. SLC39A1, a zinc #transporter, surprisingly drives metabolic rewiring and anti-apoptotic signaling in cancer. doi.org/10.1038/s443...
Highlights include #PDZ-domain roles in trafficking and degrons in stability—uncovering how #SLCs are controlled post-translationally. doi.org/10.1038/s443...
In the global survey of the SLC-protein interaction landscape we determined the protein interactions of ~400 #SLCs revealing thousands of new links.
Clustering and integration of metabolomics and transcriptomics profiles of all #SLCs enabled the linkage of #SLCs to new metabolic pathways. Further experimental validation uncovered roles in osmolyte balance and glycosylation doi.org/10.1038/s443...
Hundreds of genetically modified cell lines covering the entire #SLC superfamily were generated for systematic omics studies. By measuring metabolomics, we revealed functions for 71 unknown transporters. Among them, #SLC45A4 was found to transport polyamines
The RESOLUTE megaproject was executed by 120 researchers from 13 institutions across eight countries. We are grateful to a wonderful community that formed over more than five years. Together we paved the way for accelerated therapeutic innovation for #SoluteCarriers
Paper(s) alert from our RESOLUTE project – In a compilation of four papers in @molsystbiol.org we show how we were deciphering cellular logistics and present a comprehensive systematic blueprint of chemical transport pathways with #SoluteCarrier transporters
Join us for groundbreaking science at the Keystone Symposium on Solute Carrier Transporters this April 2026 in Beverly, MA, USA! 🌟 Hosted by @giuliosupertifurga.bsky.social, David Drew, and Kathleen M. Giacomini. Save the date—https://keysym.us/KSSoluteCTs26 #KSSoluteCTs26 #solutecarriertransporters
MUSIC for SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCES on BIOENGINEERING in SICILY open.spotify.com/playlist/3HN... symposia where cutting edge science pairs with nice charismatic speakers & participants, great locations, food, art, memories = emotions. Get in the mood for the #RiMEDSymposium2025 with this playlist!
but these posts are frustrating...why don't you tell us the cause?
Great fun to walk through Palermo with Donata Sandri and Nadia Consiglio to show you where the #RiMEDSymposium2025 will take place. Incredible place. Register soon rimedsymposium.eu
Research requires an allround favorable environment, where the building, instrumentation and governance infrastructure is matched by an exciting cultural space and a really welcoming culture for intenational talents #Vienna #Wien #Austria for me is that place #TopForschungWien
my first bsky post to hail PhD student Andrè Ferdigg for his first great PhD paper in which he skilfully identifies and cleverly dissects the role of membrane transporters in mediating cellular resistance to metal toxicity, congrats Andrè keep running! www.life-science-alliance.org/content/8/2/...
