How anger at the rollout of renewables is being hijacked by a new pro-nuclear network An alliance of political groups is harnessing real fears about the local impact of renewables projects across Australia – and using them to spruik nuclear power

In Australia, the fossil fuel backed conservative parties are whipping up public opposition to renewables projects using misinformation. They are organised and effective. They are exploiting good people by feeding them lies and organising them against renewable projects.

The people who can least afford it are being punished because big business is price gouging. Nice one.

The government has been convinced that it should reduce spending too!! It’s crazy.

Absolutely right. The people who can least afford it and aren’t contributing to inflation are being burdened with unnecessary interest rate rises that won’t stop inflation……

Marshall McLuhan's The Medium Is The Message (Best Explanation) - 1977
Marshall McLuhan's The Medium Is The Message (Best Explanation) - 1977 YouTube video by Michael Simmons

In 1964 well before the internet, Marshall McLuhan claimed that “the medium is the message”. The #medium of #media has change significantly since 1964. #Socialmedia provides a system of “tools” that structure information exchange and shape meaning. Bluesky is headed in the right direction.

I’m here for the revolution. The big platforms serve nothing but garbage and ads. Viva a la Bluesky and stuff the billionaires.

Over 100 countries back plastic treaty caps as talks reach fierce finish The hoped-for treaty to come out of these talks could be the most significant deal relating to environmental protection as well as climate-warming emissions since the 2015 Paris Agreement.

Negotiators aiming for an international treaty to curb plastic pollution are set for fierce debate on the last day of talks in Busan, South Korea, as over 100 countries supportive of a pact that would cap plastic production face off against a handful of oil-producing countries reut.rs/3B42sRK

The disrespectful boyfriend looks at a girl with a Bluesky logo on her shirt and MLG sunglasses. His girlfriend has Karen hair and is wearing an X logo.

True Facts. I also concur with the posters who highlight the editor as playing a key role.

I don’t think AirBnB (the service) is to blame here. It’s the owners of the houses who are listing their house on AirBnB who have to shoulder the responsibility. It’s excessive capitalism. There needs to be a policy response as well, as people will always opt for the better financial situatuon.

I am an aspiring Social Impact Producer living in Australia. Currently studying a Masters in Creative Industries. I might be looking in the wrong places, but I’m struggling to find a #documentary #filmmaking #community on Bluesky. I will start a list once I find a few people to follow. Thanks!
