Once you means test, you cut off the oversight of the wealthier and often more educated population. If you think govts will fund the poorer disabled just look at public Ed. Also forcing disabled people to rely on family funding gives them no independence.

Hilariously, there are some on the New Left who think it's regressive and anti-democratic to villainize oil and gas companies and the elected officials they collude with. No, really.

Number go up Our charts tell the story of oligarchy in overdrive.

AI lobbying is skyrocketing. Meta spent more on lobbying in 2025 than America’s three largest oil and gas companies combined.

By 2030, data centers will consume as much energy as 41 million US homes.

The stunning underwater world that’s at risk as the Iran war drags on | CNN Not far from the vessels stuck in the Persian Gulf is a one-of-a-kind marine ecosystem that’s home to dolphins, sea turtles and coral. How do oil slicks affect them?

Many people in coastal communities in + near the Strait rely on the fish + shellfish the mangroves, reefs, seagrass meadows in the region to survive.

Oil + war, + wars for oil: devastating to people, devastating to wildlife.

Why Men are Seeking Out “Sleep” Porn An explosive new report from CNN has exposed online communities where men conspire to drug and rape their wives—and many more consume this content passively.

Many men just want to get away with rape, of course, or see others do so. But for other men who consume "sleep" porn passively, think it's also about getting women's shaming gaze off men's faces katemanne.substack.com/p/why-men-ar...

Should this plant be declared one of the worst weeds in Australia? Without a national policy, the spread of smothering buffel grass will continue unchecked.

The answer is clearly YES. It should have happened years ago. This invasive plant is an environmental and cultural disaster, and we should throw as many resources as possible towards its suppression or, where possible, eradication.

Won’t somebody save these hundreds of turtles condemned to death? | First Dog on the Moon There is a whole dam full of water right there but the turtles can’t have it

Letting one person's 'concerns' prevent a life-saving release of environmental water for wildlife, including turtles, is truly fucked up, and those responsible should all be ashamed.

I want the names.
Of every mane who visited the online ‘rape academy’.
I want their next of kin. I want their place of work.
I want their headshots on every billboard, I want them in the town square.
Right where we can see them.
I want them fearful. I want them second guessing every woman they know.
I want them looking over their shoulders. Harried. Hurried. Nervous and afraid. I want their palms sweaty. Their breathing shallow. I want them to taste the fear that we have lived with for all out lives. I want them to wonder if their next step will be their last. Then, I’ll gently tell them that it’s not all women and we’ll see if that appeases them. If they sleep easier. If they can relax. Knowing that not all women want to drag a knife across their throat for what they’ve done. Only some.
