We said we would replace Labour and take the fight to Reform.

And that's exactly what's happening.

We need you.

"Uefa could lose its tax-exempt status in Switzerland unless it expels Israel"
Swiss MPs argue Israeli Football Association fielding games on illegally occupied Palestinian land in the West Bank makes Swiss taxpayers "complicit" in Israel’s breaches of international law.

Dear Shabana,
I notice today that you referred to me in your speech on immigration at the IPPR think tank.
You said: “A party leader should not be on the beaches of France encouraging people to
make a perilous crossing on small boats.”
I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised especially after the hateful Labour campaign in Gorton
and Denton, but this is just the latest in a string of lies peddled by a discredited Government
who intentionally fan the flames of racism and division.
When I went to Calais, I was not there to encourage people to travel to the UK. I was there
to see at first hand the suffering your Government and successive Governments have done
in demonising migrants in a pathetic bid to pander to the base instincts of Reform and the
flawed strategy of Morgan McSweeney.
As you will know, if you even bothered to research my visit instead of taking Reform talking
points, I was there to witness the brutality of families living in tents in freezing temperatures. I
filled water tanks and picked up litter.
What that visit did do is confirm my belief that if we are to smash the boat gangs and stop
the boats, we need to offer safer and managed routes for migrants to come to this country.
Showing compassion as a politician is not a crime. In fact, we need to see much more of it.
It reminded me of a young MP who in October 2015 spent three days in Lesbos helping
migrants fleeing war-torn Syria. She posted videos on X, talked about handing out water and
croissants to refugees and food parcels.
When she returned to the UK, she wrote a very moving piece in the New Statesman. She
said “we have to work with our European partners and create new, safe, and legal routes for
refugees to get to Europe. We cannot abandon them to their fate, left as prey for smugglers
whilst risking death on the seas.”
She said “maybe we can make ourselves feel better by saying no-one is making them get on
the boats. And again, the Home Secretary is not entirely wrong when …

Dear Shabana,

Let's clear some things up around migration and remember we're talking about people's lives.

Uruguay’s Renewable Charge: A Small Nation, A Big Lesson For The World Uruguay built a power grid that runs 99% on renewables—at half the cost of fossil fuels. Here’s how its bold energy overhaul became a global model.

“Uruguay did what most nations still call impossible: it built a power grid that runs almost entirely on renewables—at half the cost of fossil fuels. The physicist who led that transformation says the same playbook could work anywhere—if governments have the courage to change the rules.”

This is excellent. Not enough is being said about how to implement policies. @majorityuk.bsky.social is doing the hard yards to answer that question on its myriad forms.

Britain’s left agrees on the destination — but still can’t find the roadmap ON JULY 5 last year, Keir Starmer stood outside 10 Downing Street with parliamentary majority of 174. If you’d been told that within 16 months Labour would be fourth in the polls, with the Greens second to Reform, you would have given your head a shake.

A group of people sit at tables looking at a man giving a presentation on stage.

Great evening with @KeirMilburn, discussing his book Radical Abundance.

Money and power is being sucked out of our communities by unaccountable billionaires and corporations.

It’s time to reverse that with investment decisions guided by communities.

I would like to coin the phrase ‘fake crusader’. The fake crusader is someone who shouts angrily at an injustice for just long enough to get attention and feel self-righteous. Despite having no track record of actually doing anything about it.

Teesside’s freeport, initiated in 2021 under Rishi Sunak, has cost £560 million far exceeding the standard £25 million allocation (22 times the standard £25m).
90% profits go to the private sector.
This clearly shows the UK model of State aid post-Brexit is utterly corrupt.

I agree, Stop The Boats

Bloody oligarchs coming over 'ere on their mega yachts, stealing our public assets, influencing our government, exploiting our work force, dumping their waste into our rivers & expecting the tax payer to foot the bill for their billion pound government contracts & bail outs

Geordies weren't letting far-right fascists spout hate in their city this weekend A far-right rogues gallery of racists came to Newcastle on Saturday 27 September - and yes, racists is the correct term. Or fascists...

When 150 far-right tried to march through Newcastle yesterday, 3000 Geordies stopped them. I’m proud of our city and its people.
My article is a first-hand account of the day.

The far-right were in town trying to spread their hate and division. Only about 200 turned up.

Over 3000 canny geordies, including dozens of Majority members stopped them marching and sent them packing!

Left-wing and right-wing are blunt terms. We need to get beyond them and talk about evidence, or we descend into tribalism. My article in @thecanaryuk.bsky.social

Why, you might ask, do the BBC and Sky News, casting their editorial guidelines to the wind, keep giving massive airtime to the far right, while shutting out leftwing voices? Don't their bosses understand the likely consequences?
Only one explanation now remains.
They do.
And it is what they want.
