It is a policy I’d support, but I wonder if “reform the triple lock” will become a magical money tree, used to pay for everything.
If the triple lock is unsustainable (it is) reforming it might just make it sustainable. Not free up 0.5% of GDP for the armed forces
You can have a debate about whether this is the right policy … but it at least is an occasion when a Labour MP makes an argument in favour of something, and sets out the challenges.
Depressingly rare these days … especially from the cabinet.
“I need to keep all of my books for sentimental reasons”
“My wife has plenty of books she won’t re-read so we can throw away”

I’m glad it wasn’t just me who thought that
Me too! Damn.
Oh, their tax policies are entirely mad, quite unaffordable spending and tax plans that won’t work.
The question is whether they’ll try and get a more sane manifesto before the next election. Also … will anyone care?
Same issues for reform in some ways
For a couple of days a year … very briefly … our cherry tree goes nuts.
This may be slightly hyperbolic… but you couldn’t have imagined such a headline being written previously.
Indeed it would have made a good entry for a “least plausible headline” competition a few years ago
The Labour government and Blair himself had very high approval ratings for a long time. All through their first term and into the early part of the second.
I’m hoping the “abolish homework and exams” was a suggestion of the students, and not her policy proposal.
It seems there was quite a lot of “group 2 syndrome” behind him, but still. Woof.
Ugh. Grim reading.
Best yet
I saw some Christmas Wreaths advertised on a roadside blackboard as “Xmas Reeves” once.
My assumption of idiocy was shaken when it was repeated the next year, and I now suspect it was merely an attempt to go viral on the socials.
Oh it is so much fun! No matter your level, or how much time you have you’ll find a competitive game.
You know that thing when you go through airport security to find your flight isn’t listed on the departure board?
No, me neither. Until yesterday.
Turns out some American airports manually enter all this stuff, and whoever did it got distracted before adding the international flights.
Not scary
I’ve read more cheering paragraphs
To be fair the rest of it is excellent. It is a charity/non-profit. Everything is dirt cheap. They clearly love the tables and have a good selection of machines from the last 60 years or so
Pinball hall of fame? In we go!
What will be the pinball machine we see as we walk in? Pride of place at the entrance?
Oh. Oh dear
Walking down the Las Vegas strip it goes casino … casino … casino.
Until, wait? What’s this?
Playing poker …
Yeah, but Dad has been going “we’ve got infinite money, you can have whatever you want” all his life.
You see the two paths through this field?
The left one was when my hound saw a rabbit or something and legged it into the fog. I thought I wouldn’t see her again.
The right path was her return a while later.
She has better homing instincts than me.
I’m sure briefing your plans to the press to give the other side many weeks to plan their response is optimal military strategy
How many of the 1200 amendments did she put down?
Agree. If it is defeated in the Commons, then so be it. But for the measure to not proceed due to procedural shenanigans in the Lords seems the opposite of democracy to me.
