Not to be a total boomer over here, but I see people editing reels and tiktok videos to various movie clip audio. Where are people finding these sounds? Are they recording them from Youtube and inserting the audio into their videos or what? Help me, I'm old.

The idea of teaching everything as out-of-context passages without the whole book to read is just nuts. I know kids don't have attention spans anymore, and that's a challenge, but even my regular-track, non-literature classes often had a book to read per semester that enhanced the curriculum.

I'm not an old soul, I was just raised with gas lamps and kerosene heaters and a claw foot tub when everyone else already had walk-in showers lol. 1980s vs 1880s, who's to say life changed at all between those times?

My parents' friends had kids who were firmly Gen X, so I think I was culturally raised by older Boomers who were raised by OLDER Greatest Gens, so I'm an old millennial raised like a Gen X by people who were raised by people who were already behind the curve culturally.

My parents were both raised on farmland, in the north and the deep south, so am I weird because I inherited how much they were out of step with their peers from isolation? I had friends whose lives growing up seemed no different than today, and then I was raised like a poor Victorian child.

A weird aspect of having older parents who were the youngest kids of older parents is trying to figure out what aspect of my life puts me out of step with my peers. Having WWII veterans for grandparents? Being raised in an old house like electricity was just invented yesterday?
