We think these results suggest that feelings of agency about body and movement might not be the same, but know that much more work is needed.
This is the second article from the another wonderful (ex) Metamotorlab PhD student.
Angeliki's article is also out, directly comparing agency decisions (and confidence about those) when we experimentally manipulated a representation of participants' movement vs. the movement outcome.
Marika's latest study is out, showing that her previous results (priors affect confidence more than decisions) hold and generalise to long-term, "real" priors, not just those fake ones we induce in the lab.
This is one of two recent articles from my two wonderful (ex) PhD-students.
You will!
Also: I've been happily off work-social media and forgot how to tweet intriguing tweets. The paradigm is cool, and we found a couple of other interesting results that, while exploratory, we are cautiously interested in.
This is work by brilliant PhD student María Paula Villabona, there's more in the works!
We used to ask whether metacognitive precision (in monitoring body/outcomes) could explain the Focus-of-attention effect. It did not! osf.io/preprints/ps...
A hand playing a fretless guitar with movement sensors on
Our latest on motor metacognition, just … cooler than ever, arguably! Our meta-guitar task is a midpoint between a well-controlled task and ecological validity.

Loving this so far. Great recommendation. I have the feeling @matteofarinella.bsky.social might like it
The task we'll use is objectively cool btw. You'll get to learn to play a fretless guitar and impress your friends. … Or not learn to play it, like me, and increase by one your failed ambitions!
I am looking for a PhD student to join the CODE consortium (full of cool metacognition researchers). Come to Tübingen to study the interactions between metacognition, learning, and learning metacognition while learning a motor skill. uni-tuebingen.de/universitaet...
Hello hello! Do you like/love the work of my team and me? Want to work on the intersection of genes, the brain, and social behavior? (in human neuroimaging). I have a PhD position available (start early 2024) shorturl.at/axDNT
We found:
1) Increased tactile mismatch, similar to temporal and spatial, led to
diminished subjective agency reports.
2) Tactile M-ratio was comparable to temporal, but lower than spatial.

New preprint!!! doi.org/10.1101/2023...
We studied the role of tactile information in forming our sense of agency. The feeling that we are the authors of our actions.
(Spoiler alert ;) we argue for a role in shaping our experience of acting voluntarily)
Cool, new #postdoc opportunity with Tobias Kaufmann in #Tübingen working on the effects of pregnancy loss on the brain: jobs.medizin.uni-tuebingen.de/Job/3762/Neu...
Apply if you're up for some cool computational psychiatry, MRI and machine learning on a really relevant topic!
Honoured to be awarded an #ERCCoG!
And immensely grateful to all my collaborators 🙏
We will document how evidence accumulation determines the stream of consciousness using LFP, SUA, and voltammetry recordings. This, in awake, sleeping, and anaesthetized humans.
Stay tuned :)

And you’ve so convinced your team members that notion was useful, that they’ve pushed my group to use it, too. Takes a bit getting used to, but is absolutely perfect once you do. I don’t use it for trello-like task management, rather for overall project documentation
