Update: I talked myself back into staying up to finish it.
Still need to proofread, but the final edit is done!

I'm so close to being finished with final edits on Death & Destiny in the Mountains that I have to talk myself out of staying up all night to finish
Somebody please clap.
I went to a Spring street festival near me, and kept my purchases below my "I'm only going to spend x" number.
(It's especially impressive because there was a bookstore involved.)
I don't put nearly as many dad jokes into my books as I could. I feel my restraint should be acknowledged.
My debut novel is NOMINATED for a 2026 INDIEVERSE AWARD!
I had to read the email (THREE TIMES) because I couldn't believe it
You can find all of the nominees here: www.indieverseawards.com/2026-nominees
New Blog Post!
This week I decided to discuss some lessons I learned over the course of working on my second book, and how it compared to writing the first one.
www.saralilienfeld.com/post/six-thi...
I chose the release date for Death & Destiny in the Mountains.
More on that soon (and maybe a cover reveal) ๐
I've got a few potential titles, but I'm still going back and forth on it
I finished the first draft of Book 3!
I cracked the code to successfully marketing my book.
On a completely unrelated note, are the woods a good place to perform a goat sacrifice? Asking for a friend...
If my writing has one recurring element, it's characters grieving things that will never be, paths they'll never take. Versions of themselves they might've been in other universes.
If my writing has a second repeat element, it's cats. For obvious reasons.
If you read & enjoyed it, please consider voting for Magic & Murder in the Holler in the Best Fantasy category
You can vote here: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F...
Magic & Murder in the Holler is nominated in the Indie Visible Awards (which feels INSANE to say/write)
And, guess what? Voting is now open!
In my first book, Adeline threatens somebody with a fireball.
In my second book, Adeline threatens somebody with a fireball.
You're never gonna predict what happens in Book 3...
I started the first draft of The Arcane Codex Book 3 on March 1. YAY! (but also AAHHHH!)
Exciting things are happening behind the scenes on Book 2 right now
Traveling for work right now, but hey, did you know I wrote a novel?
It has witchcraft, murder, the Appalachian Mountains, cats and an MC willing to save the day, but not eager to be a hero.
You should read it if that sound interesting to you
Normalize saying "I'm going to need to either take a nap or do yoga before I start that" when facing a task you're too agitated to deal with right now.
I'm too old to live in denial any longer.
99% of my problems would be solved if I could afford an old house in Paris that was covered with vines.
I've read two books so far this year, and they've both been absolute bangers (do people still use that term?)
The rest of the world (and my life) is a mess, but I've got that going for me
Photo of a hand holding a lit Molotov cocktail with text "You don't need to be a wizard to cast fireball" imposed on the image.
The (unofficial) Coburn/Broden family motto in The Arcane Codex. What can I say? They're adaptable.
Adeline's witchcraft is strong, but her relatives found *other* ways to handle their problems.
The original Looney Tunes hasn't aged the best, but they slapped when it came to devising punny titles.
I type this while watching a short called "Mutiny on the Bunny"
Tank of various tropical fish
Two sea turtles in a tank
a tropical tree frog with blue and black skin
a sand shark laying in a tank
I went to the aquarium today and saw several funky little dudes that you should also see
The realest part of The Lord of the Rings was how long it took Bilbo to finish writing his book
Wild that the same device I'm staring at, begging for words to come for my WIP, can present me with pictures of cats on demand.
I don't always *love* technology, but it has its upsides.
Speaking of cat pictures, allow me to present my offering for the stockpile
Wow, you finished it fast!
I'm glad you enjoyed it

A small Kentucky town. A dark magic. People dying in ways nobody can explain. Adeline thought she left this life behind. But something dangerous has awoken โ and it remembers her.
