Briefing: Google shows ads when people search for help removing intimate images Plus: X pays clickbait accounts a little less

Today on @indicator.media’s free Briefing: Google ran ads on search results for queries about removing nonconsensual intimate imagery (NCII).

Most of the ads promoted generic content removal products that don’t provide a tailored service for NCII. Most importantly, all of them are paid services.

I would absolutely love to know who Adam Back thinks is Satoshi, and to hear his reasoning.

1 week ago 2 0 0 0

I’ve been mulling the Times piece and I think one important critique is that the story compared writing but did not compare code. Satoshi and Back have written a decent amount of code. People have pointed out that the styles are different & Back isn’t as strong in the language used for Bitcoin…

Agree the NYT piece is not a smoking gun. But seems to be a strong case. Do you have alt theories? I’m not very steeped in the Satoshi lore

It would always have presented a trail for investigation. I def would not have had the self control to sit on it, but then again I’m not a crypto, ecash, and privacy genius!

Very rude of him to not send me any bitcoin tbh

1 week ago 2 0 0 1

But if any of that bitcoin gets spent, it will set off a massive hunt to see where to goes. So if Satoshi is alive he’s kind of trapped. And Back is wealthy enough to not need to spend it. Plus, if he really is Satoshi then he likely has his own personal Bitcoin stash outside of Satoshi’s.
