A reminder that fiction — books, film, games, what have you — is always political. The willful absence of “politics” in any work is itself a political choice and a political act. Who gets to tell (and sell) stories is political. It might be an undercurrent — covert, not overt. But it’s there.

And honestly my ADHD and anxiety have just been 100x worse for obvious reasons as of late.

I mean...look at what's going on right now.

I think my #ADHD got the best of me today.

Did I get a lot done? Yes.

Am I gonna be burnt out tomorrow? Probably.

Having ADHD and loving reading means reading a novel is like a marathon. I have to count down chapters and pages to keep myself going even though I swear I'm interested in what I'm reading

Needed to take a break from some of my heavier material...so working on a cute short story about a certain main character and how she discovered her magic. 🥰

See, I really should be working on the origin novella for one of my characters. Now would be the perfect time--a story entirely focused on feminine rage.

But I just want to write cute happy things right now, okay. There's too much angst and sadness. Let me find some joy.

I really should be promoting my book releasing in less than 3 weeks...but it just doesn't feel right 😕

I keep wanting to say something about the state of well... everything. I type things up, erase them, and then stare at my screen, wondering if I made the right choice.

It's just... a lot.

I'm scared. Not for me, but for everyone else.

Now is not the time to stop reading. Fiction, non fiction, fan fiction...don't stop. Every story you read pulls inspiration from the real world.

Be critical. Be understanding.

And always have fun.

This is tough. It would probably vary by year. But right now, I think I'd focus on providing support to those who cannot afford medical care...especially in at risk and marginalized communities.

Oh I've used those before! I tend to use Sprinto bot in my private discord server, but I've also used 4thewords before, and other random apps.

Honestly, if you're a #writer like me with #ADHD, I cannot recommend writing sprints enough.

My productivity always sky-rockets whenever I write under the constraints of a sprint. It just forces me to put words on the page...even if they aren't the best.

This weekend I was selling my books at a local comic con. It was a decent show where I met old & new readers alike.

BUT the highlight had to be the little girl who bought one of my fairy tales on Saturday, stopping by again on Sunday to tell me she read it in one night and absolutely loved it. 🥹
