In the same manifesto, Palantir's owners argued that we need a national military draft, that soft power is over, and that we were too hard on Germany and Japan after World War II. I don't think that company should be allowed to exist anymore.

Credit where it's due, the second episode was significantly more involving. Still not quite 100% invested, but getting closer.
A writer friend raved about this elsewhere. Before that, this wasn't much on my radar, but it's part of a rising tide of opinion giving me the impression I should make seeing it more of a priority.
On another critical note, it feels a little bit like they injected a bit of a WHITE LOTUS influence this time. I like WL a lot, but I would've preferred a different direction for this show.
My quick take on the second season of BEEF based only on the first episode is that it is not bad but that it is also not as instantly compelling as the first season was. There's enough there, though, that it seems it could become more interesting as it goes along. Hopefully that happens.
Last night.
The Last Drive-In displayed on a laptop screen. To either side of are a bottle of Schlitz beer and a lantern.
Power’s out from the storms here so I’m watching downloaded #TheLastDriveIn episodes on my laptop.

As an experiment, I'll be removing my most popular book, DEPRAVED, from Kindle Unlimited. It will remain available on KU until June 3 (the end of the current three-month term), but after that, it's gone.
Used the word "dumpster" in a recently completed story, and it got me to thinking back to how early on in my Leisure Books days they required us to capitalize words like "Dumpster" and "Internet", along with others you might not expect.
Posting AI slop to dunk on Trump's AI bullshit is only furthering the normalisation of AI slop. Be better.
Pretty much my reaction when I heard that.

David Lee Roth made a surprise appearance at Coachella. Read a short interview with him about it in the LA Times. In 46 years of being a fan of that guy (sometimes grudgingly post-VH), I don't think I've ever come away from an interview with him without going, "What the hell is he talking about?"
I remember seeing this in a theater as a kid and laughing hysterically. No idea if I'd still find it so funny. I should find out sometime.
One False Move is a great flick.

Primate 2026 movie poster.
Watching on Paramount Plus.
New Rolling Stones song out on vinyl only today. No trace of it on YouTube or Spotify, but I tracked it down on Reddit. It's some heavy rockin' blues. I like it much better than anything on Hackney Diamonds. If there's more in this vein on the purported final album, I'll be happy.
So I guess this is what they're doing with the money they saved by cancelling The Last Drive-In? I like Tales from the Crypt, but...

It's only a matter of time before someone coins a genre called bromantasy.
That was a wild and merciless take-no-prisoners book. It's no wonder he liked it so much.
The BBC is sharing video of Iranians rallying around power plants and on bridges. Heart-breaking stuff.

I've said it before, I'll say it again:
They should have made Nick Cave's bonkers-ass GLADIATOR sequel.
My cosmic horror novel MONSTROUS is out September 22 from Flame Tree Press. Several preorder links right here.

I've thought about trying to use Scrivener before. Seems I should look into it a little more deeply.
What are you using that tracks progress like this? If it's something in Word, I'm unaware of it.
Received the new issue of @fangoria.bsky.social and just finished a first flip through it. Excellent stuff per usual, but apparently some rogue Fast Times at Ridgemont High ultra-fanatic seized nearly full control of the Classified Ads Vault.
