On Hayden Island (Portland) for a conference and I 💚urban walking/urban adventuring. Realize it's a closer walk to Van than PDX which led me to a whole rabbit hole of bridge nerds w/entire blogs abt how to walk across long bridges, esp interstate ones. I just love the uniqueness of our brain niches.

US Southern Command: On April 19, at the direction of #SOUTHCOM commander Gen. Francis L. Donovan, Joint Task Force Southern Spear conducted a lethal kinetic strike on a vessel operated by Designated Terrorist Organizations. Intelligence confirmed the vessel was transiting along known narco-trafficking routes in the Caribbean and was engaged in narco-trafficking operations. Three male narco-terrorists were killed during this action. No U.S. military forces were harmed. @DeptofWar #OpSouthernSpear

I agree with every word of this and have fact checked and verified, multiple times.

And...if Idaho cared about education we'd have certified teacher librarians starting at elem level, charter schools would be required to have librarians (they don't now), we'd check on the homeschoolers, and start at an earlier age long before middle/high school, college or incarceration...

I've worked over 10 yrs in re-entry at IDOC but with my current role I shifted to incarcerated univ students. However Meridian/Ada libraries are still doing the work you mention and have some digital lit grants. Biggest barrier is we can't teach internet skills when there's no access until released

My team teaches an infolit micro course for all incoming Boise State students, but it's an uphill battle and transfer students might miss it. Also, I did co-teach a class on Misinfo and Disinfo last semester at IDOC, for incarcerated Boise State students.

This is what librarianship has taught for years....and as we have underfunded/defunded and closed libraries and (Idaho) refuse to have certified librarians at elementary level, we get generations of information illiterate. Libraries are more than just books, librarians do more then sling books.

Spread the word! I understand why paywalls exist (blame capitalism not journalism), but many libraries have access. We can’t get the fancy versions Bec publishers hate libraries but access exists!

Digital Resources Browse our collections and catalog and enter new worlds through a variety of materials and formats.

Go here: www.boisepubliclibrary.org/digital-reso...

Then log in with library card number. You'll see multiple options but you want the 2nd one that says 'today's edition' and then you can browse by date. It looks like the actual paper, so digital content only may not be available.

The aren’t the easiest databases that’s for sure (that high level cost a ton of money). Can I ask what is your public library?

In 4 weeks Trump has transformed Iran from a country where people poured into the streets to overthrow the regime into a country where people poured into the streets to stop America. Great work.

Or in the western colloquial: never interrupt when your opponent is shooting themselves in the foot. The big beautiful bill reversed our domination in green energy and handed the world's economic future to China. Reliance on oil is clearly a national security liability.

I was just ranting about this yesterday on other socials! As a Kentuckian -- bell hooks is a far better Kentuckian than JDV could ever hope to be. I hope his lazy plagiarism and poverty porn is being framed that way in lit and writing classes.

I don't disagree, but since I sling books for a living I know the 1st part might turn ppl off, esp those that don't love nonfic. What makes this book strong is the slow, important methodical start & the intersection of drama/intensity in 2nd part. Many DNF in first 100 pages so shared my analysis
