Tina was the first client I ever signed. I begged to represent her because I was obsessed with THE CELESTIAL SEAS. From the characters to the unique world, this book needed to be published. With lots of patience & trusting the process, THE CELESTIAL SEAS released with Viking this year! 🐋

You need to dig deeper than the surface of the pool. Publishers and put out at least 30 books a year you’ll never hear about without being in a niche already or going on their pages. Scour lists/challenges on storygraph. Be more curious than marketing dollars. Queer books go unsung every year.

Don’t let mega-constellation-building billionaires steal your night sky Satellites are wonders of modern technology that have improved all of our lives. But having more than a million of them in orbit could destroy our view of the heavens and seriously damage our planet

Elon Musk has already started plans to launch a million satellites.

Yes. A MILLION.

This is a colossally bad idea, and it's not too late to make your voice heard. I explain everything:

ChatGPT is shedding users fast. Since yesterday alone, estimates suggest more than a million accounts have been deleted and the boycott continues to gain momentum. Incredible work, everyone!

I feel like midlist SFF is both vitally important and uniquely threatened right now because the midlist is where you find most of the queer, PoC, and otherwise marginalized authors. As well as a lot of really exciting books trying new things! Stuff that's not a "safe bet" but often a great read

My debut novel is going to be releasing a smidge sooner in the U.S. & Canada which means less waiting and also I’m absolutely totally emotionally prepared, see I even made a graphic

Heads up for SFWA members filling out the Nebula nomination form:

It is possible to 'save and continue later' BUT if you do this, be sure to ALSO do the step (on the next page) of emailing yourself the link to your partial ballot.

Otherwise you'll have no way to get back to it!

A visual showing the cover of THE COLOR OF TIME by Millie Abecassis, which features an illustration depicting a woman standing in a canyon with two snakes hugging her. The words "ARC SIGN UP" are written above the cover, and "Join the team!" under it. The background is a dreamy illustration of space with stars and cloud-like shapes.

A science-fantasy retelling of Charles Perrault’s fairy tale “Peau d'Âne,” The Color of Time blends the whimsy of classic fairy tales with the sapphic romance of Fable for the End of the World and the large-scale politics of The Mercy of Gods.

Princess Cyrelle has always been faithful and true to her family, country, and Goddess. But now her brother, King Elias of Cicia, has asked for—no, commanded—her hand in marriage.

Desperate to avoid this incestuous union, Cyrelle requests a series of increasingly impossible gifts and petitions the Goddess for a sign to sway her resolute brother’s proposal. As Elias persists undeterred, Cyrelle must risk everything to escape the only life she’s ever known.

Soon, she becomes Green Scales, hiding and struggling to survive on her own, far across the galaxy. But Phau isn’t the peaceful refuge Cyrelle had hoped for, and when the leader of its burgeoning rebel faction recognizes the runaway princess, she is forced to choose between safety and freedom. With the fate of two kingdoms on the line and nowhere left to run, Cyrelle must decide what it means to be true to herself, to her people, and to her heart.
