Fandoms burn really hard and really fast and then they're gone nowadays. There's a hype and then a die off with relative speed. Its almost scary in a way. I feel like the need for consumerism and ans instant gratification has bled into fandom spaces

Whump can be used that way! It's certainly not incorrect. A lot of dead dove content just happens to fall into the harder edge of whump since whump can kind of run the gambit from simple sick fic all the way to things like torture

I agree massively. I think there's a lot of "helplessness fetishism" of Viktor in general. They want him to be "small and weak" because he's disabled and that's just... not how being disabled works. A disability doesn't make someone inherently helpless or weak

I just wish there would be more recognition that his weight isn't an aesthetic choice, it's not to be pretty and waify and small. He's quite literally wasting away to an illness caused by his exposure to something or other in Zaun (I don't think it's clarified what caused it or not)

Like I get it I get the appeal I really do. Size difference hot. I'm in a size difference couple I REALLY DO GET THE APPEAL. I think it's hot with Jayvik too but also... the reality of Viktor and his chronic illness genuinely needs to be acknowledged sometimes and I feel like it sometimes isn't

It also often completely... removes the context as to why Viktor looks like that. Viktor is quite literally wasting away because of his degenerative chronic illness. You can see it in his face that he visibly loses weight between acts 2 and 3 as his illness progresses

It makes me so mad to see people take a disabled characters expression of sexuality and turn around and go "No don't do that. Throw it away. He's asexual. No." Which is a much much deeper issue.

Genuinely, could go on about this forever. I'm far too passionate about it.
