I know some do but none of the ones I listen to are AI. I check.

I was listening to one recently where someone’s hair was repeatedly ‘plated’ instead of plaited and it enraged me. Also there was a character called Ghislaine who was ‘Gizz-lane’ throughout

I’ve noticed some shocking mispronunciations in audiobooks lately. ARE THERE NO STANDARDS? *purses lips, hoiks up bosom*

I love the fox. It’s the neighbours I don’t like.

We have a fox who ransacks our feckless, recycling-resistant neighbours’ overflowing bin every night and then leaves litter all over our drive. I think he’s basically just trolling us now with this morning’s offering

You at the back! It's SHOO-IN. Not shoe-in because what the fuck is that supposed to mean? "Relax, you got the job, we just need to kick you through the FUCKING DOOR?" Shoo-in. FUCKING SHOO-IN. Like an old-time cinema usher, go on, you're all right, in you go. Kindly. Not shoe-related. Fuck's sake.

Entitled middle-class parents are the absolute WORST for loudly monopolising every space they enter. It drives me nuts.

It’s Good, Except It Sucks: Deadpool With Joanne Sheppard Joanne Sheppard joins Tim Worthington for a chat about Negasonic Teenage Warhead trying to find the correct emoji to express Wade Wilson’s lameness in Deadpool.

So @redskyatnight.bsky.social didn't really know much about Deadpool beyond the name, but apparently she found that there's a great deal in his big screen debut to identify with. Please nobody tell *him* that, though...

Yes, it’s in St Peter Port, facing the esplanade

Correcting a joke doesn’t make it funnier, you know

That very incorrect assertion is the bane of every comms professional’s life tbh

Preordered this the same day I finished Long Live Evil over New Year. If Rae doesn’t want to be Key’s evil queen, do let her know I’m happy to take the job.

Oh, no need to apologise! It’s actually quite an interesting question for someone like me, ie an overthinking nerd 😁

Agreed; apart from that it’s one of my faves too. I also always think Miss Marple’s housemaids, who she seems to be constantly ‘training up’ to do tedious stuff like warm the teapots and starch cuffs, probably hate her for being so incredibly pernickety and not letting them wear lipstick

Sheppards with our spelling are easily the best ones 🙌🏻

Based on my experience of marketing and retail, I strongly doubt it had any impact either way. It’s a convenience store on an esplanade and it doesn’t have any notable competitors, so people would go in for a packet of crisps regardless of signage.

If I owned a grocer’s called Tuck Shop, I would have not have chosen this font

I always recall how in A Murder Is Announced they moan about having to have a housekeeper who is ‘foreign’ and unreliable and temperamental. And their irritation at her isn’t dampened at all by their knowledge that she has come to England after literally seeing her family rounded up by the Nazis

🎶 Mad about the boy.
It's simply scrumptious to be mad about the boy.
I know that quite sincerely
Housman really
Wrote the Shropshire Lad about the boy. 🎶

Happy A. E. Housman's birthday!
