If he wants to start his own game studio, then I genuinely wish him and those devs all the best -- but I am not holding my breath for him to be normal about getting even the mildest criticisms.

Stuff like this reminds me that we really need to go back to the era of goofy little blorb platformers where you had the power to be his friend. Think I've had my fill of sad/mad/glad dad games for awhile!
The main credits sequence from Hades 2 after the True Ending is achieved, featuring the Goddess Selene giving Melinoe and Hecate a chariot ride over the night skies while Apollo and Artemis sing.

Oh no
Someone linked me that twitter thread and I always have to laugh at people screaming our reviews are fake when their rebuttal is always “I just played ___ for an hour and it’s already a 10/10 for me!”
Yeah man, congrats on discovering the concept of a hook.
By posting this you’ve ensured a new patch will drop tomorrow at 8pm that converts the first chapter into one long unskippable cutscene with QTEs, replaces the Reed Devil boss with a card battler, and adds a reputation system for insects.
My personal theory is Viggo read the script and found a part where Strider gets mad they can't find Gollum, and kicks a helmet in anger. He then wisely decided to pass on reprising the role.
A beautiful collage of IGNCG members (and our lovely rep) in a Zoom meeting, prepping to negotiate a fair contract for their coworkers.
It's been a ✨while✨ since we've posted, huh?
That's because our Bargaining team has been DEEP in negotiations over our first contract for over a year now.
But we're finally getting towards the end, and we're hopeful that we can come to a fair agreement!
I mean how could you say no to these faces?
I like to think all Space Pirates, Galactic Federation, and Ancient Alien Civilizations carried around large metal spheres to unlock their doors and systems and still cannot figure out how Samus keeps getting past their security.
A scene from Seasons 2, Episode 11 of The Justice League. "A Better World". Lex, now somehow President of the United States, threatens to push a big shiny destructive button, knowing Superman can't stop him without also injuring Lex.
A follow-up scene from Seasons 2, Episode 11 of The Justice League. "A Better World". Superman, after realizing he's done being Lex Luthor's "accomplice" by letting him get away time after time, uses his heat vision to fry President Lex Luthor, leaving Wonder Woman and Batman to gaze at his sizzling remains.
Felt like watching the 2000's era Justice League cartoon and got to the episode where Lex Luthor becomes President and sends the world to the brink of war, and after gloating that he'll never be held accountable and face any lasting justice, Superman just fucking kills him.
I did spot Magikoopa sipping from an E. Gadd mug early on, and the slightest hints of the Sunshine boss theme against Junior. I’m pretty sure the shine sprite vacation shirt was in Mario’s closet too!
Welcome back to Earth, Artemis II Crew! Truly an inspiring event 😭.
Sorry you had to return to... all of this.

Am I late to this?
Donald Trump must be removed from office for threatening war crimes and genocide.
Speaker Johnson: bring the House back into session.
Invoking the 25th Amendment and impeachment must be on the table, but Congress should also move on a War Powers resolution to stop Trump.
A small version of Rocky the alien from Project Hail Mary, seen next to a mission patch and his favorite measuring tape.
Forgot to post yesterday, but I celebrated Easter by constructing Rocky from Project Hail Mary out of an Easter Bunny LEGO set for my wife. Turned out pretty good!
This has been very fascinating indeed. Probably the most interesting thing I've learned is how the official JP translation comes off as softer compared to the EN script, even though the EN script of Undertale is quite far from being edgy. (1/?).
Also provides tons of opportunities to incorporate things like more Mario Kart and all the sports games as minigame events that can be quick diversions.
Since the Mario movies don’t really want to lean into substance/story and would rather rely of fast paced gags and references, I think they should just go all in for a third movie:
The Super Mario Party Movie
90 min of goofy minigames, alliances and betrayal. Also Wario+Waluigi crash the party.
Games with loot tables dominated by inconsequential and extremely incremental bonuses that are never truly felt by the player.
+0.3% Poison Resistance?
+1% Critical Strike Chance vs. Ants?
+3% Damage Against Enemies With Anxiety?
2% Chance to Deal +0.5% Damage for 3 Seconds?
No??!???
See what veteran reviewers are saying about our game!
“…very Christlike…” - Dan Stapleton
The nicest thing I can say about the new Mario Galaxy movie is that they actually let the composer stuff the film with music from almost every Mario game, and many flowed together in fun ways I did not expect. No more jarring 80s needle drops ruining the mood! Some fun game sfx usage as well.
The music sting (that they end up using 100 times over the course of the movie) is what cements it for me.

I was happy to see all the gen ai paintings that I had spotted in Crimson Desert were removed in the latest patch.
A little funny however, when placing them in your home, the thumbnails still showed the old ai art, which actually helped me confirm there were a lot more "placeholders" than I thought.

Sure. How much do you think you should pay me to use my name? It's really important to think about attribution and think about impersonation, and so on. As an expert, you have a trade you make on the internet. The idea is that when you put content out there, myself included, you hope people use it. You want to refer to other people's content. You want people to link to you. You really, really hope they attribute you when they do. When somebody uses your content, should they attribute you? Of course. And to attribute you, you have to use your name. There's a different line which is, should people be able to impersonate you? And I think that is a very different standard. And we saw the lawsuit. Respectfully, we believe the claims are without merit. The idea that the feature is impersonation is quite a big stretch. Every mention was very clearly, "This is inspired not only by this person, but also inspired by a specific work from this specific person, with a clear attributed link to get back to them." It's far from that test lof impersonation].
Here’s my interview with Shishir Mehotra, the CEO behind Grammarly’s “expert review” feature which attributed writing advice to people - including me lol - without permission. Or, as you will hear us talk about a lot, compensation. www.theverge.com/podcast/8987...
Trying to excuse away gen ai art assets by saying you were “exploring the tone” of medieval paintings is a little funny given there’s royalty free libraries of thousands of artwork that you could use as placeholders and not get shit for “accidentally” forgetting to take them out.
After many reads and audiobook listens over the years, I gotta say, Project Hail Mary did not disappoint. Just an incredible and emotional visual experience. Even if I think the choice to make it more family friendly undercut some of the story's more serious moments, it was a wonderful adaptation.
