Every time I sit down to write, I'm reminded of just how freaking hard it is (which probably tells you how infrequently I do it).
Finishing that draft is a major accomplishment; you rock!
You can do it! I believe in you πͺπ½
The way you wrote this made me LOL and then I came to the comments and realize I was inadvertently laughing at your pain π©
When I use the templates, I hate the way the site turns out. It looks and feels so formulaic. Just lacking in character πͺ
I might go your route though, I definitely want to support a freelancer/small business owner!
How do I design a website and create a "brand image"? This is the hardest part of freelancing π«©
That's what I love about writing. You deserve to share your voice and your story. Go write that memoir! π
Said (much smaller than calculated) refund will also not be here in time to help with March rent. Which I still don't know how I'm paying. So, once more:
Anyone have editing they need done? I've got most of March open at this point. Any size gig. Rates and info at the link:

Thank you to everyone who reposted, liked, and shared my post about the queer (transwoman needed) SR project!
I've received an overwhelming amount of interest for this project. My friend is no longer looking for a reader; a choice has been made. Thanks again everyone!
There's also a time-sensitive (due Feb. 17) SR project for a Puerto-Rican reader.
Network do your thing πͺπΎ

Can I DM you?
Hey queer editors!
An editor friend of mine is wanting to pass along a sensitivity read project.
Are there any transwomen here who offer sensitivity read services or who just want to take this on? Lmk so I can forward your info!
Be Social
How might you go about being social in the writing community on social media?
Join peer groups and participate.
Support fellow genre authors with comments, shares, etc.
The writing community is very supportive if you participate.
I love how welcoming and encouraging the editing community is.
Freelancing is definitely hard, but it's made so much easier by having people in your corner who've been through it and can offer resources and advice.
You all are amazing at what you do!!!
Hey Steph! Glad to meet you. Can I DM you?
Act like a professional. EDITORS: STOP DISCOUNTING YOUR RATES in an effort to fill uncontracted time. IT MAKES YOU LOOK DESPERATE. It also screams, "I charge too much the rest of the time." Set your rates and stick with them.
Nice to meet you! Hooray for expansion ππ½
Hi! Thanks so much for all the resources and support π
I'd love for us to be editor friends π§πΎββοΈ
Currently reading Katabasis by Kuang and I can tell I'm in for a wild ride.
It's amazing when an author starts a story in medias res; you feel like you know everything while knowing nothing at all.
(P.S. Babel absolutely shattered me so if Katabasis has anything similar in store, wish me luck π« )
I'm looking to make new editor friends, especially #fantasy editors π«£
Whether you've been editing for 30 years, 3 years, or 3 months, let's connect!
