I know it’s for privacy. And I don’t know why it gets me. But it does. Maybe it’s just the whole place.

I’m at Dana Farber in Boston with one my besties at her chemo, and for some reason I find it almost unbearably poignant that they call patients in by their first name and first initial of their last name. Like a 12 step program, or Severance.
Thank you!
Ralph is literally walking to the Auto Zone to get new spark plugs.
I was going to wait to drive back until tomorrow and go straight to my first day at a new job and I cannot believe how lucky I got leaving tonight instead.
There’s a partially hidden garage sign that “Jonny” (their quotation marks) MATOS (their caps) and for a second I thought it said Jonny Tomato’s and now I need to write a book about Jonny Tomato.
I’m so happy right now.
I mean, I would rather not have had a two hour detour on the way home. But 1) it’s a hell of a lot better than my car stopping dead on the GW Bridge, which is what I was afraid was happening, and 2) I haven’t had a hot, music-filled NYC summer night in years. Best car emergency ever.
This whole block is lined with auto repair shops, all open. There’s boom boxes with music blasting, a clutch of older guys just shooting the breeze. God I miss the city.
Recommendation if you ever have car trouble in the Bronx: Ralph at JZ Auto Clinica, 1508 Inwood Avenue. They mean it when they say 24 hour service, he’s telling me stuff other people should have, and he’s one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. Honestly, the world feels a little redeemed right now.
I would have a live-in cobbler and every single pair of shoes I owned would be custom made.

Basketball schmasketball you can watch and listen to mission control in Houston talking to the astronauts as they describe the solar eclipse from the capsule and listen to the science team asking questions and it's the dorkiest most exciting thing
it is also an object lesson in clear communication
Genius
Depluralize a movie:
One of the President's Men
Wild that people claiming the phrases "That was very, very obviously not the point I sought to make" and "the only fair reading of my post" are correcting poor wording and not 1) doubling down and 2) insulting those calling it out are the ones yelling about other peoples' reading comprehension.
A bolded moment on future historians' timelines.
"...the Ozempic economy—where human outcomes are no longer governed primarily by self-regulation" Fuck this guy.
You want to talk GLP-1s, I'm happy to talk GLP-1s. But wtf is this misguided, condescending piece of trash.
It's also not lost on me that the central figure in this piece is a man, and yet -- surprise! -- the stock photo is of a woman. A woman literally posing in a classic red carpet hand-on-hip stance.
So much about this piece is disingenuous and enraging and I don't have time right now to fully engage, but I will point out that losing 40 lbs in 6 months is 6.7 lbs per month, which is smack in the middle of the recommended weight loss rate of 1-2 lbs per week. www.forbes.com/sites/jasonw...
Fucking hell, Elizabeth Warren. Just... fucking hell.
I'm not a lawyer and don't know a ton about law firms in general, but I do know a smidge about Wachtell Lipton and it is *wild* to me that this guy would use them in an example prompt.
Actually make that 😭, I miss those two
Denver’s building Gotham West 😂
HOLD THE LINE
(I still have my iPhone 12 mini for a similar reason, and I feel you on this)
I LOVE MY NEW WOSO @gothamfc.bsky.social vs @bostonlegacyfc.com RIVALRY!
*prays for @nwslsoccer.com to get its reffing act together this season*
Ohhhhhh, it was Chesky? That explains the two long pauses to review things for straight reds that were not even close to straight reds.
Chesky's gotten better over the years, but come on.
I AM SO READY
Gotta love a team that makes an entrance with 6 yellows and a red 😂
This is the correct question!
Turns out they've got themselves a really fun football club! As a Gotham fan, I'm extremely excited about this old/new/reincarnated rivalry.
