I don’t think it would either. Some mistakes have lived for so long with complacent people in power that it would take flipping the chess board, and even making a new board outright to correct it.

Never was ignorant to the systemic issues police have, but it was a different level of vitriol I saw from my friends that made me think about what you’re talking about here especially.

A HUGE culture shock for me from talking with my American friends and being a Canadian was the perception of police.

RCMP and local police with varying mileage depending on who are you are have very real issues but it still highlighted a huge failing from US police for me.

I think a lot of people are realizing, and in my life it’s some Gen X people, that the pillars we’ve worshiped in society aren’t there to save us in the end. It’s what you do and what you live by that matters most.
