If you ever have to transport your models, ALWAYS carry some cyanoacrylate glue. ALWAYS. Doesn't matter how good and stable your box is. You never now when'll it be needed.

It's just a beginning. Take it easy. It's even better to build few armies up to 1k pts, than having just 1 or 2, but for 2000pts or above.
Important knowledge for any 40k tabletop newcomer - having your own 2000pts army is all good 'n well, but unless you start some highly advanced tournies, you will hardly ever play above 1000pts.
Don't feel pressured to buy too much.
