A bilingual Gaelic-English headstone in Perthshire has been likened to the 'Rosetta Stone' for the region's historic Gaelic dialect. It's also prompted a call-out for information on any more of these 'extremely rare' Gaelic-English headstones, with only 3 identified.

Falkirk Council will be reported to the Scottish Government if it removes school transport for Gaelic pupils. Bòrd na Gaelic gave the warning as councillors vote today on the cut.

Interestingly, though, the same councillor who proposed the huge council tax rise is also leading the opposition to the Gaelic transport cuts. Cllr. Laura Murtagh says the cut will adversely impact kids - perhaps even breaking their rights under UNCRC.
LOTS to this story. More on BBC An Là tonight.
But the council is undoubtedly under financial strain. This week it passed a 15.6% increase in council tax. A council report claims taxis for GME pupils costs £80,000+ a year.
Falkirk Council hasn’t responded to BBC requests for comment. (Bòrd na Gaelic and parents also complain about lack of communication).
Pupils and families will be protesting outside as Falkirk Council vote on the measure today: www.bbc.co.uk/naidheachdan...

She raised concerns about breaking statutory obligations - their present and upcoming Gaelic language plans.
