Definitely grateful to the teachers on my PLC.

But I do think too many teachers are starting to think “more assessments” equals “more learning” —- I’d rather have more instruction and experiences / activities

What’s unfortunate, because of PLCs & staying “on schedule”, I can’t really adjust much or authentically respond to data &/or student burnout

I tell my colleagues I’m able to adjust so much more in my solo prep not because of students’ ability level, but because I’m not a prisoner to a calendar

I teach AP Lang

Where I agree: there are clunky, robotic, & boring aspects to the essays deemed high quality. When I show them to my students their responses are usually “that was a 6?!”

Where I disagree: these are essays written in 40 minutes - in a timed aspect, students can’t be their best

She’s amazing…but I think her role in October Sky is my favorite
