It’s a great start to the morning when past you worked out the High Asairic name of AN IMPORTANT PLACE in the current WIP, so present you can just keep editing 🤓

Hit 375,000 words on the first draft of Pillars of the Sky this morning. Still writing, but only 8–10 chapters to go. Once the draft is done, it’s off to alpha readers, then revisions. While it’s out, I’ll start work on Dragonhold, a stand-alone Eye of Eternity novel.

Another milestone! I’m about 2 chapters away from finishing Darien’s arc for Pillars of the Sky. Then it’s Sevaani’s turn. I’d say I’m 85% done.

This book has been kicking my butt.

Next up: edits, alpha, beta, editor. There’s a light at the end of the tunnel. I can see it!

Cut 4K from Kaiel’s arc before starting Darien’s, so it took a bit longer, but that’s 4K fewer to edit later. First draft = telling myself the story. Edits come next.

I thought I’d finish at 225K. I was wrong. Very wrong.

Still writing. Still overwhelmed. But the story’s not done—yet.
Book 2 is coming. I promise.

I just binged the 3 seasons of Happy Valley. Wow. What a show. I HIGHLY recommend. And Sarah Lancashire is a brilliant actress.

I’ve just had two weeks off work and have spent most of that time getting back into the habit of doing three writing sprints a day. I've worded everyday and have really built up my own momentum in getting the words out and onto the page.

Okay. Citadel is ridiculous. And not in a good way.

I started watching 'Citadel' on Prime when it released and stopped after 2 episodes. So bad. But 'Citadel: Diana' has come out and I want to watch that so figured I'd try 'Citadel' again. Still bad, but in episode 4 it's actually become interesting!

This year has been tough, but I am excited to say another milestone has been reached in the first draft of The Pillars of the Sky.
