Don't get me wrong it's going to take a lot of work, time and money for them to do it properly and it will be really hard. Not to speak of the sacrifices they will have to make in terms of user generated content like avatars and worlds. But long term there really isn't many more ways to go about it

Sounds like VRChat needs to come to terms with the fact that they are working with an outdated pipeline at this point. None of these performance issues are ever going to be solved if they keep adding band-aid fixes like the most recent one.
