Venus sent her muses, midwives three: Vera, Magnolia, and George to whelp Copper into the world and Apollo as welcomer among banjoes, n' fiddles, n' the collective effervescence of every critter dancin' and howlin' to the heavens, "All Praise Ra! We are the chosen ones, the Children of the Sun!"

Jupiter foretold of Copper's coming by way of the First Stick. A gift. A staff to connect the Master Alchemist with the earth. A staff for grounding. With Mercury guiding, The Alchemist caught a powerful scent. A perfume of creosote and orange blossom, dust and leather. He followed his nose.

The stitching is meditative; the making is spiritual.

I was forged by a master alchemist. With a meticulous hand he brought together earth and hide and kindled in my eye a turquoise flame to burn eternal.
