Thanks. The headline I saw seemed deliberate in that it stated that 600 miles was a game changer. So it was either ignorance or outright deception. Like we need more disinformation in the world!

Good to know. I think I saw a clickbait headline that didn’t make that clear.
I was talking about the 600 mile claim. The 400 mile claim seems fine.
If the claim is to believed, China has developed a 600 mile battery. We’ll see—I am skeptical
@pattrn.bsky.social You all were talking about hot water heaters and you mentioned tankless heaters but not heat pump water heaters. Please take every opportunity to inform the public about both types of heat pumps as they are central to our battle against climate change.
It is a taste I never acquired.
We were so lucky to avoid the worse case scenario. The cloud cover helped diminish the instability. Just a bit more sun could have made a big difference. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best. We can't let our guard down the next time.
Which American readers are they interested in pleasing? We are not exactly a united bunch of readers.
It turns out that murdering innocent civilians does not make people like you more. It's funny how that works.
@theweatherchannel.bsky.social I'm confused by your measure of lightning. I just heard strikes per mile. I assume it is strikes per square mile. Is that an annual number?
Here's a plan. Reinstate EV tax credits and continue to grow the charging network.
It is one of the big challenges to communicating technical information to the general public. I've been in meetings in the Department of Energy where people have said, "but climate change is uncertain." So one can only imagine how the average person would process this. Note: this was years ago.
Climate change deniers have aways said that there is uncertainty in the computer models. They are right about that. Where they are wrong is the notion that somehow uncertainty always works in your favor. It doesn't.
How is she on two spaces after a period?
Interesting article. There is a mistake in the graph on PV-only systems that says they operate in the low power mode 90% of the time rather than 10%. Clearly the future is batteries. Also it would be nice if the cost of carbon was reflective of the damage that it is causing at $200+ per tonne.
When I was at EIA we always wondered why so much was added at the end of the year. Maybe there is a tax accounting reason? The interesting thing about the solar capacity is that it is being added at its lowest generation level and will only get better as the year progresses.
My time at UT contained some of the best memories of my life. It is heartbreaking to see a great institution of higher learning destroyed by bigotry and reactionary thinking.
My gas bill dropped by $50/month when I installed mine. It replaced a 19-year-old gas water heater. I also got an induction stove top around the same time so the $500 per year seems about right.
Seriously. That's what I was going to say so now I'll just agree with you.
Oops!
At first I thought that much of the rest of the country had caught up with Virginia. Then I realized that the blue dots were not to scale.
And I'm really excited about that!
It's those power-hungry climate scientists and their weather machines!!
Exactly what a spokesperson for an agency doing all those things would say.
I just wrote a @theactionnetwork.bsky.social letter: Ask Virginia Lawmakers to Support Clean Resilient Power. Write one here: actionnetwork.org/letters/ask-...
Not exactly a lot of U.S. climate regulation to begin with.
So much good work they have done over the years.
What makes her think that publishing houses would need authors anymore. If an "author" can generate an AI novel then so can an intern at a publishing house. Also, what makes publishing houses think that readers can't generate their own novels and share them with other readers in their book clubs.
I'm going with a no on this. What are the emissions from transport?
It turns out that, "democracy dies in darkness," is not so much a warning as it is a strategy.
