Me too. I’m not sure what those involved think we could have done differently. Thankfully, I kept emails from some students who recognised how difficult it all was & appreciated our efforts. I’m sure many colleagues will have experienced similar - those emails helped at the time & they help now too.

What better way to start your day is there, than a talk at the Museum of Archaeology Stavanger, Norway about the importance of replacing your seed.

On the ferry back to England after a successful first field trip for our APEX ‘Bog Biographies’ project. Several coring transects across Borremose completed and three nice sequences sampled for pollen, insect and radiocarbon analyses. Looking forward to getting stuck into the lab work now!
Thanks Matt, really looking forward to getting started!
Thanks Claire! Hope all is good with you
Excited to share news of our new project in which we’ll be using palaeoenvironmental archives to learn more about Iron Age ‘bog bodies’. Huge thanks to @royalsociety.org, @britishacademy.bsky.social, @raeng.org.uk & @leverhulme.ac.uk for supporting this work with an APEX Award!

Nice article about Estonia’s bogs, which are very much on my list of places I need to visit!
Finally made the move over here after giving up with Twitter (X) quite some time ago. This is much nicer! Looking forward to sharing updates on some exciting new projects soon. For now, here’s a picture of some beautiful sundews in a bog on Arran.
