I am also happy to say that I am the first Duke and UT Austin alumni to win such award. I am also the first economist from Chiapas, the área with lowest Human Development Index to win such honor. I am beyond words.

I can finally share that I am the 2023 recipient of the 1st place in the Banamex Award for research Excellence for my work on deportations and firms. This is the highest honor that México, through múltiple research institutions, grants to anyone studying México’s Economy.

I know this is silly… but every time my work gets a citation I feel like a rock star :)
