It’s an exemplar of lazy, low cost, studio-bound TV journalism.

Elites in the periphery of the Anglo world do not seem to grasp that it is not American hegemony that is collapsing but the very Anglo hegemony they identify with.
Perhaps a European refusal to pay tribute to the self-constructed myth of Anglo exceptionalism - predominantly British or American but embracing all of the Five Eyes club. Seeing us as living through the collapse of Anglo hegemony appears to explain much including Trump and Brexit.
Entirely coincidental that one month into Trump’s presidency the SS United States is towed out of Philadelphia to be sunk off the Florida coast. www.inquirer.com/news/philadelphia/ss-uni...
Chain of command.
My @smh cartoon.
They've given up pretending.
My SMH/The Age cartoon.
It’s the elite establishment crushing any challenge to its dominance.
Good luck from regional Victoria.
I seem to recall that the ICC only has jurisdiction in war crimes prosecutions if national legal systems do not undertake investigations.
Thanks
The US will simply not allow any western country to arrest Netanyahu.
Do you have a source for this?
Presumably those same insurers are also still insuring fossil fuel production around the world? Disaster capitalism in action?
Here it’s here. Happy New Year everyone.
Just settling down to an annual tradition😀
Interesting. Thanks.
Does this happen every winter?
Interesting. Were the trees grown north of Berlin and brought to the market by train?
Is that Glühmost in German?
There are also mulled apple and pear ciders in the UK. Do you get those in Germany or Poland?
Thanks. I’ll track it down.
Multi-use rail corridors just seem such great opportunities to avoid further environmental destruction.
Isn’t there an opportunity to deploy different transmission technologies like low temperature superconductors? Some regions in Australia used existing rail corridors to roll out high-speed internet backbones.
Couldn’t the wires be built along the rail corridors? An additional source of revenue for the rail system?
Interesting. Do you have any link to more info?
There also seems to be a linguistic aspect to the Brits and Glühwein. We just returned from a stay in the UK and very few people seem to know what Glühwein is, but most know mulled wine. It’s even sold in supermarkets under that name.
😀
These days bank managements are not incentivised and rewarded for running a bank but for extracting the maximum return from customers for shareholders. Twenty-first century financial capitalism in action.
