Previously unissued gold from piano legend Mal Waldron.
This is Stardust & Starlight at the Jazz Showcase, captured in 1979. I love Mal Waldron, full stop.

Eclectic Corner in May looks like this. If you’re interested in how this lot sound, you will need to dial in to @madwaspradiomwr.bsky.social in due course. Keywords: italo, italo, italo, synth pop and then a bit more italo… did I say italo already? Well, there will be italo…

This is Some Shit by Al Mati, originally self released in Amsterdam in ‘81. Born in Lisbon in ‘49, real name Alberto Mesquita, he travelled across Europe and back in his quest for a better life - the sleeve notes make quite the movie script honestly. Think Space Lady et al. Ace!

Fantastic album from one of my favourite contemporary dub producers, Prince Istari. Here he’s taking on a noble task and Rids The World From The Evil Curse Of The A.I. 🙌

It’s always a pleasure when Prins Thomas releases a new album. This is Thomas Moen Hermansen, perfect Nordic cosmic disco vibes.

Been a fan of Andrew Hargreaves ever since his Tape Loop Orchestra and The Boats stuff. Under the Beppu name he’s become a master of dub techno and the recent Objects LP is absolutely superb. This EP collects a few remixes from said album

Breakfast with El Huervo’s A Thing With Feathers long player released by Swedish label Pomfritt Fresh Beats back in 2020. Never thought I’d come across a copy since missing out back when it came out. Happy weekend!

I wonder if Theo Parrish was taking the piss when he released the Long Walk In Your Sun / Strawberry Dragon 12”. Both sides play at 33 but they have to be pitched to the max, plus/minus respectively, to sound good to my ears. Then they sound really good too mind you :)
