Most important changes are stronger and faster enemies and bosses. Cure spell costs slightly more MP and healing items are more expensive. This version is for people that like a challenge and is certainly not easy!

Also recently wrapped up the Amida’s Curse romhack from @okimpala.bsky.social, and it’s so so good. The changes are extremely smart, well implemented, and not obsessed with being “hardcore” or overly difficult. Some of the dungeon design is fantastic with some real surprises. Very worth checking out

My review is: Final Fantasy Adventure is one of my favorite—if not my ABSOLUTE favorite—Game Boy games, and Embers of Mana makes it completely redundant and unnecessary. It just clears its inspiration in every way. This is the “real” first Mana game for me, now. If you like Mana then play it.

I am about 3 hours into this and it is EXTREMELY well done. I love the original Seiken Densetsu and this is not just a love letter to that but the entire Mana series. I think this will be a ROM hack people are talking about for a while to come.
