When I went to Japan last year and bought doujins for the first time, it definitely uncapped something that's been stewing inside me because I'm just absolutely having the time of my life buying doujins - like, it's scholarly; I had to dig through hundreds of books to get these and that was so fun.

And I filled it up like instantly too when I got back - look at it ; they're both full! I knew I should've bought 3 instead of 2 but I was so tired and it was so hard to hold them with all my stuff at the end of the day. Going to post my NSFW stuff in the next tweet because I am so hyped about it!!

The funny thing was I never found it until the very last day despite asking at 3 different Melonbooks, a Surugaya where the clerk looked at me weird when I asked for recommendations on locations to buy it ; and my little brother found it at animate Ikebukuro which I skipped thinking it was more yaoi

Well anyway, here's my haul from my Japan trip with my family last week - I had a lot of fun as you can expect; wish I went to a time with more events but I took what I could get which was alot.

The greatest boon was definitely the doujinshi cases - I came into this trip with wanting to get that.

Gonna be posting a haul photo soon - too bad didn't take that many photos while I was here ; mostly just went to alot of doujin stores and a few MTG stores. Oh, I did check out the danmaku CAVE shop - that was cool

Overheard 2 Japanese girls say "otaku" behind me as I was crouched down on the 3rd floor of animate Ikebukuro trying to hold as many doujinshi cases as I could in my arms - I finally made it, I've earned the recognition 😭🔥🔥

Man Tokyo Indies was fun, too bad I have to go back to my boring everyday life 😞😞 - need to move to Japan or be rich and niche-ly famous in 3 years!!!

I've been playing alot of Deadbeat which is this cool isometric action rpg, reminiscient of Undertale & Everhood - it has a cool combat system which ; honestly can't find a good comparison - maybe Dead Estate (didn't like it though), Hades, Hakoniwa - but they don't feel similar to me

think i should start doing gamedev stuff again - i was working on a little mod for Alchemist Alcove but think I'll just wait on the next update ; pretty bored of Battle Islets so I think I'll go back to FSG - oh wait, i forgot im being paid by a friend to work on something before that

Just finished watching Project Hail Mary at my local cinema, oh my god - this is probably going to the best movie I'll watch this year ; watching this has raised my spirits up so much and made me cry a little too much

Also, been playing alot of Hacknet recently - really really cool game ; ngl, I was having a few headaches the first few sessions trying to figure out all this information but after that man, what a novel experience - I would've totally been filtered by this game if I played it in 2017

Just beat Alchemist's Alcove - this was a really fun indie to obsess over - definitely been yearning for some sort of wizardy game ; I have mixed feelings because it's so similar to SkeleSkribe but I never managed to systemize my idea in a good way; gonna steal everything from this 🥸

I was reading Derek Yu's makegames articles about Assessing Risk - and basically what I took away is that I should try to find out what it is I'm actually able to produce alot of in a short span of time that is interesting to other people - I think I can write good but idk how to use that for games
