Still feel like "Musk and his crew of incels destroyed a bunch of stuff they didn't understand and thereby hastened the deaths of millions of children" did not get the public attention it warranted.

When Einstein developed general relativity the closest thing to a practical application that could even be imagined at the time was a slightly more precise description of where to look for the planet Mercury in the sky, and yet now we’d all be literally lost without it.
Anyway: fund basic research.
I think not that ong ago if I told people that Alex Jones was going to be begging Elon Musk to rescue Infowars from Tim and Eric they would suggest I have a nice lie down and maybe talk to a medical professional.
Move over Hemingway, "Elon Musk, please help" clocks in at a cool four words
Why is this not a national scandal? If 1000+ jobs were lost overnight in carmaking or steel it would be pure shock.
Sophy Ridge: "Amal Khalil, who worked for al-Akhbar, which is a Lebanese newspaper aligned with Hezbollah"
Shameful.
If Sky News journalists are targeted & killed will you also excuse their murder by telling us who Comcast is aligned with?
Yes, Swiss scientist Fritz Zwicky coined the term “dark matter” which is impressive, but he also coined the term “spherical bastard” to describe people who are bastards no matter which way you look at them, and I think that should be celebrated more.
Oh no! I'm so sorry for your loss. What a lovely dog
it is very funny how these people are so accustomed to essentially bullying democratic politicians that they meltdown when met with appropriate pushback.
in any case, the process to amend the virginia constitution has multiple stages where, at any point, an amendment can be defeated.
flipping through a proof of yet another book from a somewhat well known liberal voice diagnosing “where the left went wrong” and i’m struck, again, by the fact that a large part (if not most) of the liberal commentariat simply does not believe that the political right has agency.
Alright, I’m home now so here’s the Norm update. Yesterday at 4pm, I got a text from a family I’ve been helping who had a loved one abducted a couple of days after Renée Good’s murder. This was the family that Norm Nation kept from being evicted (and you delivered). ICE had released their loved one.
The lack of public benches is frankly ableist.
Ok how about making housing affordable for people for practical reasons? It's pretty practical to have somewhere to live

The Crown was a psyop to humanise the Royal Family by having charismatic actors play them.
I will never forget the experience of seeing LEAVING NEVERLAND at its Sundance premiere. For @avclub.com I wrote about a devastating, definitive documentary about surviving sexual abuse that cannot be erased.

Maybe we'll keep some InfoWars content up.
Here are the cast announced SO FAR-
Again, I would 100% watch the prestige dramedy. But who to cast?
Oh Mandy
You came and you gave without vetting
But I sent you anyway
Oh, Mandy
Well, your Epstein links were very upsetting
And I’m wriggling today
Oh, Mandy!
With the help of the Sandy Hook families, The Onion has reached a long-awaited deal to take over InfoWars.
We've enlisted the help of @timheidecker.bsky.social, who will be InfoWars' Creative Director.
Please stand by for more.
Her office said the Office for Students (OfS), which regulates universities, had received reports of speakers and lecturers being harassed and blocked for holding gender-critical or religious views, of foreign interference suppressing academic freedoms, and of ideological belief requirements featuring in job advertisements.
The OfS will be able to use the new complaints scheme from September. From April, it will be able to fine universities the greater of £500,000 or 2 per cent of their income, which would amount to millions of pounds for large institutions, for breaches under the Freedom of Speech Act. Ultimately, universities could be deregistered for egregious cases.
Bridget Phillipson will introduce new laws to make it possible for Universities to be fined millions of pounds if they don't silence students who protest bigots invited onto their campuses. It's like the Tories never left office.
Once again. These people do not want freedom of speech, they want the freedom to monolog without criticism.
They're going to end the freedom of speech of students to protest bigoted speakers they disagree with.
Me normally: one very frustrating thing about being on the left is that a huge chunk of the movement is obsessed with defending the abusive, repressive monster that was the Soviet Union
Me after reading this article: gulag gulag GULAG FOR THIS FUCKER FOR ONE THOUSAND YEARS
Sample testimonial for Lifebet .com:
"Apparently while I was in the womb I bet 500 grand that I wouldn’t be born, but then I was born, and now I owe LifeBet. com 500 grand. It doesn’t seem right to me, so I made a bet that what they were doing was illegal, but I lost that too."
I wrote a sketch for Newsjack about gambling called "WhenTheFunStopsStop". It was an ad for a gambling company that would let you gamble on stuff like "how many steps on my walk to work?" & "how long will I be in the womb?" & "when will I die?" & little did I know I was predicting polymarket
I’ve had the same editor since 1967. Many times he has said to me over the years or asked me, Why would you use a semicolon instead of a colon? And many times over the years I have said to him things like: I will never speak to you again. Forever. Goodbye. That is it. Thank you very much. And I leave. Then I read the piece and I think of his suggestions. I send him a telegram that says, OK, so you’re right. So what? Don’t ever mention this to me again. If you do, I will never speak to you again
Maya Angelou on the joys of being edited
Absolutely incredible.
